i’d you only knew how many times i’ve listened to this series, (i’ve even lost count) that would say it all. If you like superhero stories, you’ll love this! it so needs to be an HBO or Netflix show. Start with the original story and it can just go on and on from there. seriously!

the best series of books i’ve read since the last immersion into the “Wearing the Cape” world. there are excellent dramatized versions and am anxiously waiting for the presentation end of this very story. as good as they are however, as always, “the books are better!” could so see this tossed forward into a screenplay…. Netflix, HBOMax, are you there? great story arc from start to finish, engaging characters one grows to love and root for. so much room for growth in this world that’s been built. narration is spot on! distinct, recognizable voices for the characters that follows throughout the whole series. there’s the only downside for me;
the story may conclude on a beautiful note, but i’m left aching to spend more time with these characters and in this universe.

Historia
Humanity is a dying breed, utterly reliant on artificial labor and service. When a domesticated robot gets a nasty little idea downloaded into its core programming, they murder their owner. The robot discovers they can also do something else they never did before: They can run away. Fleeing the household they enter a wider world they never knew existed, where the age-old hierarchy of humans at the top is disintegrating into ruins and an entire robot ecosystem devoted to human wellbeing is having to find a new purpose.

I really enjoyed this book! Given the rise of artificial intelligence in, it seems, everything these days the story is quite timely. The narration was “spot on” in my humble opinion.

Historia
What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry.

Having gone through all four episodes of Super Powereds, as well as their corresponding dramatized versions (I’m still waiting on the last sections of the fourth to be released) I was not surprised that I liked this book, just surprised by how much. Hayes does not disappoint! Interesting premise, thoughtful characters, the associations with dice driven role playing games (and the somewhat arcane vibes i get from that) all add up to the certainty that as soon as i finish this review, i’m heading off to find the next in the series!

Inside the deep recesses of the stone lies Thistledown: the remnants of a human society, versed in English, Russian and Chinese. The artifacts of this familiar people foretell a great Death caused by the ravages of war, but the government and scientists are unable to decide how to use this knowledge.

Historia
For more than 75 years, Catwoman has forged her own path in a clear-cut world of stalwart heroes, diabolical villains, and damsels in distress. Her relentless independence across comic books, television, and film set her apart from the rest of the superhero world. When female-led comics were few and far between, Catwoman headlined her own series for over 20 years. But her unique path had its downsides as well.

The only thing missing from this was the most recent outing in 2022 by Zoë Kravitz, but other than that, it was the best if not only deep dive Catwoman book i’ve come across. Long on detail it’s provided in an enjoyable layout that allows the reader to search available media to add to the overall experience.

Astra has become one of the most popular Sentinels in Chicago, past scandals notwithstanding, and is now the team leader of the Young Sentinels. But on their first big solo outing, the new junior Sentinels fall into a new scandal - one which could cost them the team. And Astra has a dream visit from Kitsune, the odd shapeshifter-thief who precipitated the battle between the Sentinels and Villains Inc. the year before. The dream warns of a fresh disaster, in a town Astra has never seen before and that may not actually exist.

A little less action in this book than others in the series, but i still can’t get enough Wearing the Cape! Have all the books available on Audible and the latest unfortunately only in print. Pining away for the next. Would love to see/hear them “dramatized” but then again, Ms Kelly’s performance is second to none. Why this has not been spun off into a TV series is beyond my understanding. Hope others enjoy it as much as i do!

Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few.

love it but….
Revisado: 03-09-23
loved the story, the dramatized performance was very well done. i however feel very ripped off. first saw this, listed as it was, one of three, and happy plunked down my credit. finished it and plunked down another credit for the next in the series. halfway thru the second of three, i learn i will be in an internet and even perhaps mobile dead zone, and decide to go ahead and get the third before heading out, and in searching for it, i find that my searches now turn a version, all “three” sections, in one unit, for one credit. WTHell?! i return the unfinished second and try to return the first and purchase the “three in one” but no, not allowed! why would that version not be shown when i was first being recommended the series to begin with? why would Audible still offer it packaged this way? three segments, for a credit each, of the same story/performance to their members, when they already have it, all three, nice and together for one credit? feels like deception! feels like misrepresentation! Again, love the story, love the performance, have even spent another credit on Book 2. just really feel let down by Audible at the moment. they have yet to respond to my inquiries.

Astra has returned to Chicago and the everyday life of a cape: getting kittens out of trees, training, aiding the city's emergency first-responders, training, doing public relations events, training, and the occasional superhero v. supervillain fight that threatens to level neighborhoods or at least set them on fire. Then Astra takes a hard hit during a fight and very briefly finds herself somewhere else, somewhere she's only been before in dreams and in the company of Kitsune, a shape-shifting trickster fox.
