Historia
Twin sisters Dot and Dash Wilson share many things: a birthday, a best friend named Gus, and a secret shorthand based on Morse code, a language their father, a WWI veteran, taught them as children. But that’s where their similarities end. While Dot’s nose is always in a book, preferably the latest by Agatha Christie, Dash is a social butterfly and spends her evenings out dancing. Despite their differences, the sisters have a close bond—until one develops romantic feelings for Gus.

A wartime fairy tale
Revisado: 06-30-24
While the story had some interesting insight into aspects of the war, I found the story itself too unrealistic, the primary characters all too perfect, and the story itself overly soppy to be an enjoyable read. It seemed like a fairy tale set in wartime, punctuated by a happily ever after. If toned down in sentimentality, it would have been more digestible. As it was, the exaggerated style of the two readers only amplified it and it was painful for me to listen to. I only stuck through to the end as it was a book club choice.
