Historia
The first time Ashling Wood realizes her marriage is on the rocks is when her husband, Adrian, suggests they try nest parenting. Heartbroken, Ash suddenly finds herself living a double life—one week with her children, the next cohabiting with her happily single sister-in-law. Her friends think the modern custody solution is an exciting opportunity for her to spread her wings, but all Ash wants is her family back together. An offer to renovate a seaside cottage seems like the perfect distraction for Ash while waiting for Adrian to come to his senses.

Rachael Johns has done it again. A brilliant story. Flying the Nest had me in tears, laughing and not wanting to put the book down. If you haven’t read any of Rachael’s book, then do yourself a favour and pick up a copy of Flying the Nest

Slick, Glib, Bloody, and Really Dumb.
Revisado: 12-31-24
Murder House" is a textbook example of hack work. The author is certainly skilled, able to introduce characters with a sentence or two amusing descriptions and very effective telling behaviors. Scenes are competently set, and the pace is fast, assisted by very short chapters. Lots happens - but nothing that is remotely original. The characters are stock, one dimensional, and not terribly bright. At about the half way point I found myself thinking, "please don't let this character be the bad guy" - but sure enough, my worst fear was realized - when the bad guy, as ultimately revealed, fulfilled what would have been a tired cliche seventy years ago. Afternoon Halloween TV specials for pre-teens have more genuine surprises and unusual plot twists than "Murder House," which, though gruesome, is about as scary as a carton of milk two days past its "best by" date.
Jay Snyder and Therese Plummer were good with the narration and the only reason I finished the book

Held My Interest All The Way Through
Revisado: 12-20-24
I drive a lot and enjoy listening to books while in the car. This one really grabbed me right from the start and I was hooked till the end! Cons were that the story was a bit unrealistic and it is actually kind of tragic. Pros include great narration, captivating story-line, and interestingly imperfect female leads with love and compassion.
Clare Corbett was excellent with the delivery of the story

Not FM's Best Effort
Revisado: 12-20-24
The story is mediocre, lacking depth and I also don’t get the hype. I’m big fan of FM and read all
Her books but this one is not her best. The male narrator was a little too animated is making me not taking his character too seriously. This is very forgettable book.

Definitely Not Funny A Very Rare DNF!
Revisado: 12-16-24
This was not my thing at all. I couldn't see any humour in it and the story was laboured and slow. I listened to 2 hours and called it a day. I bought this based on the many positive reviews but I honestly don't understand the hype.

Most Of The Book Is Great
Revisado: 12-15-24
Okay. Let me describe my feelings towards this book, as it unfolded.
It starts with a bang. I'm thinking that this will be a blast, and I stumble on-wards.
Then it gets a bit "chatty" and instead of chasing criminals we're planning a wedding.
Now I'm not so sure, but it's a light read an in spite of my doubts it's hard to put down.
And when we get to the last part the speed picks up, it's fun, it's exciting, an now it has kept me up too late.
Yeah..I saw the twists and turns coming, but that just strokes my ego.
Whatever. I enjoyed this. It's not a great book, but it’s a great listen!

A Bit Tedious
Revisado: 11-29-24
This book was slow and tedious. Some parts got really interesting but they were few and far between. The protagonist getting "a creepy feeling" or "tingles on the back of my neck" over and over again. Details about her past are vague and as they emerge, they are not particularly interesting. Some of the scenes are simply illogical and unbelievable.

A bit of a slog.
Revisado: 11-21-24
I really am such a big fan of Dugoni’s writing, but this book really dragged on and on. I felt like the minutia revolving around call logs, who said what, to whom, and when was just so repetitive which slowed down what could have been a good story. Not his best work.

I don't get all the 5 Star
Revisado: 11-15-24
It was just an okay book for me. The reason I picked this book was all the 5 star rating was assuming it involved some intense complicated dynamics of relationship. Turns out black and white with lots of slow boring places in the book. Yeah, the domestic violence part did give me goosebumps but the rest of the story was like a fairy tale -- ideal friends, ideal ex lover, ideal career choice and convenient ending...
Olivia Song was also just ok with the delivery of the story
