Historia
Richard Dane has killed a man. He cannot unhear the firing of the gun or unsee the blood on his living room wall. But everybody in the small town of LaBorde, Texas, knows Dane acted in self-defense. Everybody except Ben Russel, the ex-con father of the small-time criminal who invaded Dane's home. When Russel comes looking for revenge against Dane's family, the two are unexpectedly drawn into a conspiracy that conceals the vilest of crimes.

The Dixie Mafia exposed
Revisado: 12-20-24
High octane, bone crunching, edge of your seat mob thriller!
A Small town sheriff’s lies and corruption has stirred confusion and chaos. His lies are now controlling people’s lives and subverting their realities, triggering the need for truth and answers.
Really good expose of the underbelly of Texas- The Dixie Mafia. What you see isn’t always what you get. Some of the scenes: a Home invasion, a corrupt sheriff, a vhs video store as a cover for other kinds of videos, “batting practice”…. Riveting reading and better than the movie!

Most Important - Avoiding the Halo Effect
Revisado: 10-29-24
This book has broad applicability. As an American Bar Association rep, we look for corruption in lawfare - deceptive lawyers. We must single out the lies and disregard all the times they told the truth. By doing so, we create a halo effect of “you’re special” by getting away with lies and violating ethics rules because “you do other things right.” No. Hone in on the lie, get the truth, and get out of the profession if you think lies and the law can coexist.

The Oath Keepers first made a name for themselves with the infamous Bundy Ranch standoff in 2014. They have continued through to the US Capitol insurrection in early 2021. The Oath Keepers—including many former military members—have become one of the largest anti-government extremist groups in the United States, labeled one of the most dangerous domestic terror threats by the FBI.
