Hugh Fraser’s performance of this story could not have been better. I listened with rapt attention, and I’m listening again. Almost as good as watching it on Netflix. I was disappointed by SPOILER — Hastings being constantly duped and knocked out — but immensely entertaining as only Agatha Christie can deliver. 💕❤️

Stories worth it, I give up on audio though

Not as good as the later ones

The voice acting is very good; at times i forgot it was the same narrator. The pure narration was a bit sing-songy or it would take on some of the tone of the most recent character (the former was annoying). The latter was forgivable because she was good at playing different characters. Wish the story was a bit better. Fell flat at the end for me. I listened to one of the later ones and enjoyed it more. So I’m not giving up on this author or series.

A bit eye-rolling at times but decent

I felt like there were some good points made. I needed a good pep talk and this was it but the author talked a lot about how great he was. It was exacerbated, in my opinion, by the dramatic reading. Maybe there was no delivery that could have made it sound less arrogant but it was ok. I enjoyed the examples of the players that were used to exemplify the points.

The narrator (author’s) staccato style often gave me a headache. However, the book is chock full of good info and exercises and I look forward to getting the hard copy to go through again. I will probably enjoy that more, especially with the exercises.

Good story, great narrator, bad recording

Really good with some minor annoyances

Intriguing story. Just like with The DaVinci Code, I could put it down. However, there were some points that mad e my eyes roll: how weak and scared the heroine seemed at first when she was supposed to be such a smart person as part of the intelligence community. Was she really so afraid of what the President would do so early in the story, given the available facts at that time? Yeah right. Other times left me similarly beyond the point of suspending disbelief. Also I could hear the narrator swallow from time to time. Not pleasant but overall a great performance and a fun ride. Thanks for keeping the romance to a minimum. X-P

Good news: I'm going to buy the book

It's a great topic. I enjoyed the Ted Talk so I figured I'd enjoy the book. The stories were laborious, almost anxiety-inducing. I get it imposter Syndrome is widespread. I have experienced it first hand, but I don't want to relive it for 6 hours! The book could have been shorter and cut to the Chase quicker, which is why I will get the paper copy ---so I can flip to the parts I'm interested in. I would have preferred a different narrator but that's just me.
