Historia
The ice is coming. It was the last thing we expected, but the world is freezing. A new ice age has dawned. Billions have fled the glaciers. A cataclysmic war is coming. In orbit, a group of scientists are running the Winter Experiments, a last-ditch attempt to understand why the planet is cooling. None of the climate models they build make sense. But then they discover an anomaly, an unexplained variation in solar radiation...and something else. Close to the burning edge of the sun, they catch a fleeting glimpse of something that shouldn’t be there....

Good story good narration
Revisado: 03-16-25
no spoilers here...I really enjoy the double narration. both are very good. they both do multiple voices. I have been looking for a rating of 4.8 or better but I see now that's not as telling as it seemed. This one is 4.4 I think, I would rate it much higher. The way the story plays outs is a bit different and I really liked it, two stories become one over time and it's done well and easy to follow. I Guage a book by how we'll it plays out in my mind. If its really good it'll feel like a movie and I can easily picture it whats happening... this one does that very well.

A fun premise and great ending
Revisado: 03-05-25
I like the story lots of characters and good character development for the most part I think it could have been a little bit more descriptive about what was going on sometimes but it was good. the premise I really liked and they definitely left it open for book two which I'm about to download and start listening to it's rated even higher than this one!
the narrator was good but not the best out there, Ray Porter is still King and I think he would have been a fantastic choice for this. he did a great job with individual character voices although some of them were slightly the same my issue with it was when he was actually reading story it was a little bit monotone. I wouldn't let that stop you from listening to this book it was pretty darn good!

Historia
A phenomenon known as crustal displacement shifts the Earth's crust, repositioning continents and causing countless deaths. In the wake of the global catastrophe, the world struggles to take care of its displaced billions. But Antarctica, freshly thawed and blooming, has emerged as a new hope. Rather than wage a world war no nation can endure, the leading nations devise a competition, a race to the center of Antarctica, with the three victors dividing the continent.

In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. Weak story
Revisado: 07-15-24
The Basics... mildly entertaining just enough to keep you interested. It is a bit hard to follow and has a really weak an unrealistic ending . A total let down.
The narration from the main narrator is good but the woman doing the female narration wasn't needed, not to mention it was poorly done and edited in. IF she tried to make her voice different for all the women sound different, it didn't come thru.
I really wanted to like this book but it came up very short..10 hours I can't get back- SKIP THIS ONE!

Revisado: 07-02-24
A pretty good story and if you like orphan X like I do,you gotta listen!
I will say he spends too much on recap si suppose this could be a stand alone novel.
Scott Brick I usually enjoy and foe the most part I did but he came across pretty intense on this one.
Enjoy and theres a setup for the next story that's a bit shocking about one of my Favorite characters of the orphan X series!

I love a time travel book!
Revisado: 04-19-24
This is a!really cool spin on time travel. as advertised it's combined with a murder mystery. While there is plenty of time travel to keep the Sifi reader going, the root of the book is planted squarely in the murder story line. Both stories are quite good . The murder portion is a bit convoluted and complex, you can't idle through this one as you will miss important details. I had to back the book up a few times to keep up. The time travel story is interwoven with the murder, I could have used a bit more time travel story but enjoyed the book.
