I've listened to this book a few times now and everytime I come away with different lessons. The main one is how Lorelei survived these moments in her life. She didn't let circumstances dictate her life. The hardest lesson of all that love isn't enough. Poor Steve was so sick and unhappy that no matter how much they loved each other he couldn't overcome his addiction and probably untreated mental health issues. It's heartbreaking how he suffered. I come away from this wondering if they had the knowledge and tools that we have now, would be still be alive. If he had left Def Leppard would it have helped or made things worse. I actually cried when he told her about the other woman. Looking back of course you see how desperate he was and just wanted someone there to enable him. Lorelei had to take care of herself. Everything was about Steve and no one thought of her. I find her courage and outlook so uplifting. I'm happy she's found love in her life and happiness. I'm sure she'll love Steve forever but like she said, he's free now.

Finally a performance that makes sense

I am so happy with this book. They use each voice actor like they should. Not like most that have multiple voice actors but still only let one do all the characters per chapter. This book let each actor voice their character all the way through. Thank you so much! It made this book so much better. Great story and great voices. I love this.

You feel like he's right there talking to you.

I absolutely loved this. He takes you through everything and doesn't take out what he's done good or bad. I'm from Odessa and almost did a spit take when he read the newspaper story about the graffiti on OHS's building. I remember that happening. I've loved his voice from the beginning and still live it today. I hope he keeps writing books. He's very engaging and makes you feel like he's just talking to you

A wonderful trip down the rabbit hole

Maggie Haberman has beautifully taken us on a guided tour in Trump land. Most of the details are events we've already heard about but it's the meticulous way she weaves everything together to show us all the bigger pictures of Trump. I'm hoping this will be the last book I ever read about Trump. Reading this gave me a new appreciation of where we are now. The fear of waking up to see what fresh hell Trump had done daily for 4 years. I'm happy to have some peace and quiet. The fact that I don't have to watch several dumpster fires a day is heaven.
Job well done Maggie. Now go take a vacation, you deserve it!

I love this series of books. Kate Forbes is amazing at bringing the story alive. I must say I'm not thrilled with all the flashbacks. The first couple of books where she split the story from current times to history were ok, but I find it dragging the story line now. If I had wanted a history lesson I would've picked one to listen to instead of this book. I love the series but I wish she'd just stick with these amazing characters and stop the flashbacks. I just skipped all the chapters that wasn't current.

AMAZING

I've loved this book since I was a kid. It has meant the world to me to actually have it ready by the author. I'm super excited to share this book with my own daughter. I hope she loves it as much as I do.
