The first book was amazing. I looked forward to many continuing books from this amazing author.

Maybe about halfway through the second book I started picking up political rumblings and climate weirdness.

Most people read to get away from the constant conflict in the world. It’s our escape, and our entertainment.

This book had an amazing start to it -then out of the blue -almost halfway through the book, the woke ideology entered the picture and ruined the story… we read to escape the highly politicized world, we don’t need it in our recreational reading.

The agenda

Great storyline. Everything was going along and I was super interested in the story. Then they inserted heavy duty political narratives. Not just a little, a lot! It got so bad that I didn’t even bother to finish the book. I read to escape from the insanity of this world. Not to have people virtue signaling to me through a book… what a waste.

Amazing story!!

Very uplifting story. So much darkness to overcome, and so beautiful in the end. Everybody has a story, and his is worth listening to.

I really liked the plot development and characters. And I actually liked learning about volcanoes. That was well done. But disliked bringing political names into the middle of the book. That was weird. kind of threw me off.

Wonderful book! Finally, something that you can read and don’t have to put up with all the political clap trap… you can escape into a really good story, and relax. I hope this author writes more books.

I don't need a lecture

I read books to escape to another place, to be entertained, to relax. I regret buying this book because it starts out with a lecture about skin color and how racist everyone is...I can get this on the news, social media, and bad movies. I don't need to be lectured at about political narratives everyone is sooooo tired of! I didn't even bother finishing the book because the tone was set for the rest of the book. So disappointed in Grisham...he WAS one of my favorite authors.

Great outline for a book, but got sidetracked, and a bit obsessed with female genitalia and preteen sex. It could’ve gone without the golden showering  incident.  The creepiness kind off took away any five-star aspirations.

Why ???

Ok, I am a huge Michael Crichton fan.  He is an amazing writer. So I don’t understand why he  decided to get on a podium and lecture us all on political crap.  If I wanted a social justice speech, and all the minutia that goes with it-I can turn the news on, or watch some of those new TV shows that do nothing but political activism instead of entertaining us. 

I am so disappointed. I didn’t even finish the book.
