Great Story
Revisado: 02-08-21
The story was very good but the imagery was outstanding. What a great book for children to read. If I had to complain about anything it would be the narrator. she can't pronounce half the words correctly. By the way she was saying the words (ie, "grotto" she kept pronouncing it "grow-doe") it's obvious she had never heard most of the words in the book. Other than her butchering the story, I very much enjoyed it.

not a great book
Revisado: 11-08-19
I know the story is a classic and I'm sure it's great but the narrator was terrible. He has a speech impediment that made it impossible to focus on the story. He simply cannot pronounce the R's. It's like listening to a British Elmer Fudd. I'll return this edition and see if I can find one with a different narrator.

I'm used to listening to a narration of a book with a silent background but this book was more like watching a movie. The background sound effects made visualization of the story just like watching a movie. I enjoyed the British accents too! I really, really reccommend this book.

An inside account of the fight to contain the world's deadliest diseases - and the panic and corruption that make them worse. The Next Pandemic is a firsthand account of disasters like anthrax, bird flu, and others - and how we could do more to prevent their return. It is both a gripping story of our brushes with fate and an urgent lesson on how we can keep ourselves safe from the inevitable next pandemic.

deceptive title
Revisado: 09-22-19
At first the book was interesting then it turned into a whine fest. While Khan does discuss bacterial warfare and other interesting germ info, it very quickly turned into a pity party forum on how Americans mistreated him because he's muslim and how Americans mistreated the Indians and how the police only stop black people when they're driving. He seems to have written this book to give himself a platform to whine about all his imagined injustices. I do not recommend this book. It's less about bacteria and diseases and more about Khan dissing America and Americans. Don't waste a credit on this book.

Historia
Ulysses is regarded by many as the single most important novel of the 20th century. It tells the story of one day in Dublin, June 16th 1904, largely through the eyes of Stephen Dedalus (Joyce's alter ego from Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man) and Leopold Bloom, an advertising salesman. Both begin a normal day, and both set off on a journey around the streets of Dublin, which eventually brings them into contact with one another.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Historia
The publication of Rhett Butler's People marks a major and historic cultural event. Through the storytelling mastery of award-winning writer Donald McCaig, the life and times of the dashing Rhett Butler unfolds. Through Rhett's eyes we meet the people who shaped his larger than life personality as it sprang from Margaret Mitchell: Langston Butler, Rhett's unyielding father; Rosemary his steadfast sister; Tunis Bonneau, Rhett's best friend and a onetime slave; Belle Watling, the woman for whom Rhett cared long before he met Scarlett O'Hara at Twelve Oaks Plantation, on the fateful eve of the Civil War.

Often called the greatest novel ever written, War and Peace is at once an epic of the Napoleonic wars, a philosophical study, and a celebration of the Russian spirit. Tolstoy's genius is clearly seen in the multitude of characters in this massive chronicle, all of them fully realized and equally memorable.
