In the forward Tom Weiner says he wrote this book at the request of the Long family and it is obvious that they had total editorial control of the final output. It does have a lot of detail, and does demonstrate the genius of Huey Long; however it makes him out to be a hero that he wasn't.

History is as good as any fictional novel if it is well researched and written. This book is, very glad I got it.
