I initially didn’t want to leave this review because in all fairness the author started the book multiple times staring this is an account of their story; however, the disclaimer was also buried in long diatribes. My review is to serve as a disclaimer to anyone dealing with trauma. The author is using the written (or spoken) word to work through (or with) trauma which they have not already come to a better understanding about. The author is dealing with feelings of shame, vulnerability, blame, guilt, anger, contempt and it’s hard to tell if they’ve forgiven themselves. Again, in all fairness the author says the are writing the books as a catharsis and they don’t care what others (including their husband who they’ve hidden it from) think. The book is also very disorganized and revisiting the same topics to go on rants while missing key moments to reflect and tell a story. To anyone listening looking for information, this books is not meant to be information. To anyone looking for clarity, you’ll only find confusion. To anyone looking for healing, you may find a headache and a feeling like you’re apart of the problem.
