Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

Historia
The West has been devastated by epidemics, bio-terrorism, war, and famine. Asia has shut its borders to keep the threats at bay, and some with power and influence have already abandoned Earth. Now an escape route a century in the making - the Nomad mission - finally offers hope to a small town and a secret research centre hidden in a rural American backwater. Shrouded in lies and concealed even from the research centre's staff, Nomad is about to fulfil its long-dead founder's vision of preserving the best of humanity to forge a new future. But who decides who's worthy?

Not Galaxys edge
Revisado: 09-27-21
I couldn't make it through. This story is just drivel that doesn't really fit in. It may have been decent if it wasn't trying to be part of the galaxy's edge universe and if I didn't expect certain things from that affiliation. Since it is and I do, well it's rubish. You can also tell how much post production editing was done on the audio as the narrators voice switches almost every other sentence in parts (why I gave the performance 2 stars). Not an enjoyable listen and not worth either the time, money, or credit. If you're a Galaxy's edge fan you'll be better off skipping this one. I've asked for a refund.

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

boorish and falsh
Revisado: 07-23-20
this popular bit of nonsense is the worst type of self hatred, the type that attempts to suck others into it's black hole of loathing and despair. Mrs DiAngelo's crumb-catcher should stay shut rather than try to perpetuate the crime of inciting innocent people to doubt their humanity.
What she has done is to create an unfalsifiable narrative where any criticism has to be racism. the pile of excrement only deepens as after the (presumably white) reader fully hates themselves they are supposed to come to despise anyone else who isn't woke enough to join in the self-flagulation.
if you honestly want to learn about racism watch any interview with Daryl Davis. ignore this wretched piece and hopefully Mrs DiAngelo will go away.

After saving the world many times, the Merry Band of Pirates have accepted the inevitable: Earth is doomed. All they can do is try to bring a few thousand people to safety, before vicious aliens arrive to destroy humanity's home world. No. There is one other thing they can do: hit the enemy so hard that the aliens will regret they ever heard of humans.

ugh
Revisado: 02-24-20
I am just simply done caring about this series. the home front audio drama was the first big downhill slide to me. but with the last two books so disappointing and the very abrupt cliffhanger ending on this one.... well the truth is I just don't care anymore. I will be hard-pressed to buy another book in this formulaic and of greatly diminishing quality. if you are just starting out on expeditionary Force you should seriously reconsider your options. if you have not yet wasted a credit on this ninth book in the series... let my cautionary tale tell you it's just not worth it.

Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Confirmation Bias at Its Finest
Revisado: 07-27-19
Start with an agenda. Come up with a catchy title. And then filter out facts that don’t support your humans are evil thesis. Prime example the statement that the extinction of Neanderthals “..may very well be the very first genocide.” There is no evidence for this statement. In fact what evidence there is points in other directions. Confirmation bias coupled with white male existential guilt gives you “Sapiens”

don't waste your money
Revisado: 02-15-17
this book ranges from absolutely asinine 'advice' such as "follow directions on the package" to "hang up a tarp so your doberman can not see the mail man".
if you have never owned a dog before and never read anything about owning a dog or met anyone who owned a dog you may pick up a few things. even in that limited circumstance I would still suggest any other dog training book. please learn from my mistake and do not waste your money or your time on this one.
