I'm not completely finished with the book but I wanted to take a minute to tell future listeners what I wish someone had mentioned before I bought this book. I always listen to samples of narrators new to me before I purchase an audio book so I did that here like usual since the female narrator is new to me. The female narrator has a lovely voice, a tad breathy but I've listened to worse so that wasn't a big deal. However, when I got into the narration I found that she doesn't even TRY to do a male voice which makes it confusing on who is speaking when the h & H talk. I have to keep backing it up to listen again to figure out who said what during any conversation the h had with any male. It was more frustrating than if she had done a crappy male voice.

The story is great so far and has really sucked me in. I'll update once I'm finished with the book. I'm just really frustrated with the female narration at this point.

It could have been a good story. The writing is childish, the characters are cringy, the fmc is one dimensional, it was not worth the credit spent on it. This story honestly felt more like reading the first draft or outline for what could be a good book.

First off, I think it's important for you, the possible reader, to understand a little about me and my reading habits before you read my review. My suspension of disbelief ability is pretty medium to high depending on how drawn into a story I become. I like to read books that allow me to let go of reality. I don't need my books to be completely believable, we call that reality and reality sucks sometimes. I want to live in fantasy when I read/ listen. So yeah, there are reviews that chastise how we're supposed to believe things in the story went down the way they did. Do I believe things that happened in the book would truly happen in real life the way they did? No. Does the author make me believe it could happen? Yes. That's important to me when I'm reading/ listening. MAKE me believe and boy oh boy does M. Never make me believe. The range of emotions I felt through this book were just astonishing. I was flying in the clouds happy, astonished, infuriated, decimated (legit tears), and relieved. I want books that make me feel. Don't just make me feel one way, make me feel all the things and M. Never does, every single time. I had to take a break for 10 minutes a few times because I was feeling too much and that's exactly what I want from my books, feelings, big, heavy, feelings. If you want your fantasy to look just like your reality and cannot suspend some of your disbeliefs to make that happen, move along. If you want to feel, buy now!!!!

I could not stop listening! The character development is fantastic, the story sucks you in right away, and I especially appreciated that each of the three main characters have their own narrator. I find Samantha Summers a bit nasally but not enough to actually annoy me (and I'm pretty picky about narrators).

Be warned that it does end on a cliffhanger, you have to read both books. Trust me though, it's worth it. Their story is heart wrenchingly sad but the love they share with each other is just beautiful.

I had to switch to the kindle version a few chapters in. I love Sebastian's narration as usual. Whatever Tracy has going on adding a sigh of ahhh at the end of every sentence and saying each sentence as if it was its own paragraph was so awful I couldn't even pay attention to WHAT was being said. I tolerated her in book 1 barely. Another reviewer mentioned she chills her speech later in the book so maybe I'll try to come back to the Audible version after a handful of chapters.
