When you eliminate negative thoughts and energy from your life, you'll feel a sense of calm an inner peace like you've never felt before. But this is the power of negative thinking - when you turn your negative thoughts around, you actually create more energy and power that moves you into the direction you want to go in your life faster than you've ever moved before. We argue to protect our viewpoint when we could just as easily let the argument go and be happy. Learn how to reprogram your mind and subconscious habits and never have another unnecessary argument again!

Blah, blah, blah, 3x5 index card, blah, blah...
Revisado: 08-08-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
This book was almost entirely preamble to a guaranteed way to overcome irritability, but it never really got to the meat of anything. I have listened to it twice and I didn't glean anything from it other than a 3x5 index card to figure out why you're irritable, then no real solution to help you deal with it. I'm not going to lie. I found myself getting irritated at the book not getting to the point. I will listen a third time (because it's short) but I doubt I'll get much more out of this sales pitch for an index card.
Would you ever listen to anything by Doc Orman MD again?
No
Would you be willing to try another one of Matt Stone’s performances?
Maybe
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No.

Historia
If your funny older sister were the former deputy chief of staff to President Barack Obama, her behind-the-scenes political memoir would sound something like this. Who Thought This Was a Good Idea? is an intimate and admiring portrait of a president, a candid book of advice for young women, and a promising debut from a savvy political star.

I really enjoyed Alyssa's down-to-earth, quirky wit, sprinkled with helpful life tips. :) This would be a fantastic book for a young woman in high school or university.

Historia
In 2001 Mo Gawdat realized that despite his incredible success, he was desperately unhappy. A lifelong learner, he attacked the problem as an engineer would: examining all the provable facts and scrupulously applying logic. Eventually, his countless hours of research and science proved successful, and he discovered the equation for permanent happiness. Thirteen years later, Mo's algorithm would be put to the ultimate test. After the sudden death of his son, Ali, Mo and his family turned to his equation—and it saved them from despair.

Fantastic book with a small exception
Revisado: 05-25-17
Everything about this book resonated deeply with me until the last chapter on god. Although his initial arguments were logical and worth pondering, it deteriorated into a shell-game argument that posed pedantic questions already answered by science. I lost some emotional connection to the book overall but Mo Gawdat's mathematical look at happiness made sense to me.

Historia
With ribald humor, wit, and incredible insight, Alan seamlessly moves back and forth in time, integrating stories from his childhood in Scotland and his experiences today as the celebrated actor of film, television, and stage. At times suspenseful, at times deeply moving, but always incredibly brave and honest, Not My Father's Son is a powerful story of embracing the best aspects of the past and triumphantly pushing the darkness aside.

Sadly Relatable
Revisado: 05-23-17
If you could sum up Not My Father's Son: A Memoir in three words, what would they be?
Listening to Alan Cumming's memoir was cathartic for me, and also more widely, tragic. Having grown up in Scotland myself, and being the victim of parental violence and abuse, I see that it was a systemic problem in Scotland. I felt kinship in that, and it was a bit of a balm for me to listen to Alan's journey. It is a wonderful book. I enjoyed it very much.

Historia
The hilarious memoir from award-winning comedian Bridget Christie. When Bridget Christie walked into her local bookshop, she thought she'd come out with a book (hopefully like you've just done). And maybe a calendar of cute photos of cats (hopefully unlike you've just done). The last thing she thought she'd be leaving with was the need for a new wave of feminism and the start of an incredibly successful career.

My new favourite Comedian!!!
Revisado: 05-23-17
What made the experience of listening to A Book for Her the most enjoyable?
Bridget Christie is a breath of fresh air to me. She is bitingly intelligent and funny, and I felt finally that I've found a female comedian that I can relate to. Infinitely more interesting and witty than Amy Schumer and the like. I can't wait for more of Bridget's work to become available.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is the first David Sedaris book I've read. I loved his stories, his admittance of shallow emotions that we can all secretly relate to. Some of his stories reminded me of Damon Runyon, which was delightful to me because I read a lot of Runyon stories in my teens.I enjoyed the beautiful orchestral string pieces between stories. It was a delightful experience overall listening to this audiobook.

Paradigm Changing and Powerful
Revisado: 12-28-16
If you could sum up Born a Crime in three words, what would they be?
Charming, Eye-opening, Sad
What did you like best about this story?
Really eye-opening to learn about apartheid from a personal point of view, also to be more aware of the differences in the way races are still treated.
What about Trevor Noah’s performance did you like?
He brought warmth and humour and hope to what could have been interpreted as tragic if read through my own filter via a book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
It profoundly changed me. It really felt like a whole shift in my perception of reality and awareness.

Thin concepts and lacks substance
Revisado: 12-06-11
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I was excited to purchase this book, but within 10 minutes of listening to it I regretted spending the money on it. The Lessons provided are all fairly obvious, and some of the advice given is really, really bad (example: you don't need terms of use or legal pages on your site). There's no meat or actionable items - comes across as a guy who got lucky in ecommerce and really doesn't know marketing strategy or the value of a business plan. I'm so disappointed with this book that I've stopped listening to it half way through. Wish I could send it back for a refund!

Historia
The power of glitzy advertising and elaborate marketing campaigns is on the wane; word- of-mouth referrals are what drive business today. People trust the recommendation of a friend, family member, colleague, or even stranger with similar tastes over anything thrust at them by a faceless company. Most business owners believe that whether customers refer them is entirely out of their hands. But science shows that people can't help recommending products and services to their friends....
