Historia
Selective use of scripture - by preachers and politicians alike - has been employed to justify violence, racism, misogyny, homophobia...the list goes on. Still, we believe the Bible has something important to say. How can we read it in a contemplative and intelligent way? In What Do We Do with the Bible?, Richard Rohr answers just this question. He offers a methodology of hermeneutics (interpretation) that creates a foundation for a hopeful and cosmic vision - incarnation from beginning to end of time. (He explores this vision further in The Universal Christ).

Historia
Richard Rohr leads us through the social, political and environmental setting out of which Matthew brought Christ’s radical message of a new world order. He explains Matthew’s challenge to let go of the conventional wisdom that comes with contemporary American culture. Each of seven talks brings us closer to the heart of the Sermon.

THIS is the good news!!
Revisado: 08-08-22
If you have never read or listened to Richard Rohr you are in for a treat! Hear a truly freeing message that Jesus spoke in a way your western evangelical church would be too scared to preach. Rohr brings a message of inclusion, of acceptance, of FORGIVENESS and of LOVE in a way that will ring try and make you wonder how we’ve misinterpreted the words of Christ and our role in Gods kingdom for so long! “The kingdom” isn’t a place you go where you die, “the kingdom of God is at Hand”!! Rohr doesn’t even get into the Bible part til the very end. Most of the the talk is him setting up a worldview from which he later interprets the passage. His worldview is one of Love. For ALL OF GOD’S Creatures!!! That includes YOU, no matter what you believe, what you don’t believe, what you do or what you don’t do! Come wrestle In a fresh new way that will not leave you broken down and beaten up as a miserable sinner, but instead will have you training to be love as god is love. If you struggle with Christian faith that has left you with doubts and confusion, WONDERFUL! Join the club! If you want to learn from this text how to love like Jesus, in action over word…. LISTEN TO THIS BOOK!
I usually listen to books at 2x speed, but I love his cadence and voice and his empathy and love really shine through at normal speed so I encourage that as well!!

Life changing truth you already know (and don’)
Revisado: 11-25-21
This will help any spiritual wanderer in their journey for perennial wisdom. Rabbi rami uses humor and kindness to gently nudge the reader to expand their views of the divine and self. He does not encourage leaving ones faith behind, instead he beautifully encourages the reader to draw from their experiences as a foundation that they can build on towards a more loving, compassionate, and kind way of life towards others and ourself.
I can’t recommend this book enough.
