Very Dissapointed
Revisado: 10-03-24
Oh My Goodness, I literally loved Allan Dibs first book One Day Marketing Plan. So much so that from time to time when I needed to use a credit I would check to see if he had written anything else. a few days ago my dream came true, I saw time doing an interview on a YT podcast talking about this book and I immediately switched over to audible to buy it. so disappointed, a few hours into the book and it's just a bunch of regurgitations of basic well known marketing jargon. it hurts my heart to say this about him, but my expectations were so high from the first book. 99% of everything I've heard so far is things you'd think a person interested in a 2nd book would already know. I was even thinking in comparison that by this mark in the first book I had already learned so much value that I at least had not heard before.

The content marketing category is a $400 billion industry. And it’s estimated that by 2024, the content marketing industry will grow by another $270 billion, bringing the grand total to nearly $700 billion. But how much of the content being created (especially by enterprise companies and B2C companies) is actually worth reading? The truth is, most of it isn't.

The Whiteness of Wealth

Historia
Dorothy A. Brown became a tax lawyer to get away from race. As a young black girl growing up in the South Bronx, she’d seen how racism limited the lives of her family and neighbors. Her law school classes offered a refreshing contrast: Tax law was about numbers, and the only color that mattered was green. But when Brown sat down to prepare tax returns for her parents, she found something strange: James and Dottie Brown, a plumber and a nurse, seemed to be paying an unusually high percentage of their income in taxes. When Brown became a law professor, she set out to understand why.

Very Good Info
Revisado: 03-09-22
I recommend this book highly, however there are a few things I disagree with. no t so much that I need to say the book is anything less than it is but also enough for me to mention it. but she covers a lot of ground, does it in an entertaining and understanding fashion.

An Extension of who we Know&Love as Black Thought
Revisado: 07-08-21
Thanks BT for sharing more pieces to the puzzle with us. interesting how 7 Years begins and ends with a death, still it has so much life.
I won't get long winded but I just want to share my first time seeing you guys perform. it was the early 90s, Proceed was on "The Box" but it was a while before 'Do You Want More' came out.
you guys were already touring and Detroit was on list, at this time your weren't doing large venues in our area. I caught the bus to go see you guys set up and perform at a "Block Buster" music location. And I believe I bought the album there.
Won of my favorite concert stories because you visit Detroit pretty much every year now but it's much bigger places but I always remember the small show.

yes part of it is because I'm honored to be a fan of this man but I think most of my satisfaction is because the book let us in on more details of things that I remember. we all know him as a great orator and that was no different here. yes it was long but I actually was sad that it had to come to an end.

not a bad book especially for the price. there us some info thats helpful but much of it is basic or just standard.
there are also annoying reading mistakes that are made on purpose or at least not corrected. it happens so frequently that its not just a miss from the editor. The writer even references a reviewer that left him a bad review of a book because of a typo that ended up being a good client. it feels like he's trying to force that again.

Historia
Richard H. Thaler has spent his career studying the radical notion that the central agents in the economy are humans - predictable, error-prone individuals. Misbehaving is his arresting, frequently hilarious account of the struggle to bring an academic discipline back down to earth - and change the way we think about economics, ourselves, and our world.

Revisado: 12-09-19
I just could never get into this book. it was rather dry with data that I couldnt hold on to. while some of it was interesting, the book wasnt what I thought it would be. i love economic and marketing but I am not an economist. I think this book is written for the scholars of the field.

Historia
When the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, the black community owned less than one percent of the United States' total wealth. More than 150 years later, that number has barely budged. The Color of Money pursues the persistence of this racial wealth gap by focusing on the generators of wealth in the black community: black banks. The catch-22 of black banking is that the very institutions needed to help communities escape the deep poverty caused by discrimination and segregation inevitably became victims of that same poverty.
