Historia
Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide use their impressive backgrounds in neurology and education to debunk the standard deficit-based approach to dyslexia. People typically define "dyslexia" as a reading and spelling disorder. But through published research studies, clinical observations, and interviews with dyslexic individuals, the Eides prove that these challenges are not dyslexia's main features but are instead trade-offs resulting from a different pattern of brain organization and information processing that has powerful advantages.

Not this book again
Revisado: 04-10-23
I started this book cringing, thinking that this book was going to be similar to the original book. I'm not too big of an ass to admit that I was wrong. It is a vast improvement over the original not only in tone but its content. For me, it's hard to read this book listening to all of the great things and strengths of dyslexia. To be honest I was about to write this book off but had resigned myself to completing it. The end of the book changed how I saw the rest of the book the passages about how dyslexia can affect your self-image are well-written and is a great addition.
I would like to see a different book by the same Authors that talk about the problems that adults with dyslexia face. There is a bit of that in this book but I feel like it deserves more space. Honestly, this book feels short in general but it gets the job done.

Historia
Almost everything has been invoked to account for Trump's victory and the rise of alt-right, from job loss to racism to demography - everything, that is, except popular culture. In The Sky Is Falling best-selling cultural critic, Peter Biskind, dives headlong into two decades of popular culture - from superhero franchises such as the X-Men and the Avengers and series like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones to thrillers like Homeland and 24 - and emerges to argue that these shows are saturated with the values that are currently animating our extreme politics.

Attack of the beige Supermen

I want to start off by saying a few things firstly, I don't normally review anything. Secondly, I'm going to do something the book fails to do and I'm going to tell you my Biases. I'm a libertarian and in the view of this book an "extremist". So, now let's get to the review, the only good thing about this book is the title. The 1st part of the book, our own chicken little, in this case the author; Completely and totally mischaracterizes Normalcy to suit his own myopic biased agenda. Simultaneously not recognizing the fact that his own opinions, and that's all this book is opinions, are so biased and out of date that they no longer are relevant. Save your money on something actually Worth your time.
