Historia
Summoned to relieve destroyers that are bogged down by escort duty in the escalating Pacific Theater, the Hayward is met with a rather cold reception. In the eyes of Pacific Fleet sailors, North Atlantic convoy duty pales in comparison to the bloody, carrier-sinking battles of Savo Island and Guadalcanal. However, Atlantic Fleet ships have had to specialize in one thing: anti-submarine warfare. The Hayward is sent off into remote South Pacific operating areas with orders to find and destroy Japanese submarines—but with little expectation of success.

He did it again!
Revisado: 07-29-22
P T Deutermann as created another great book. Being a navy veteran, I have enjoyed all of his works, not just the navy books but everything he has written.
This book tells two sides of the story. One being the commanding officer of a destroyer escort and the other being the executive officer of the same ship. In a remote part of the Pacific Ocean, this ship was ordered to hunt down a Japanese submarine that was spotted by an aircraft. Mission accomplished along with a revelation that they were on to something big. A theory that proved correct and led to mayhem for the Japanese submarine force.
From recruits to four-star admirals, this book covers all. Victory and betrayal for the good of the navy.
I can see a sequel coming and if it does, somewhere in the next book will be the word [Samar]. I recommend this book.

Historia
The moment Navy SEAL sniper Finn sets foot on the USS Abraham Lincolnto hitch a ride home from the Persian Gulf, it’s clear something is deeply wrong. Leadership is weak. Morale is low. And when crew members start disappearing one by one, what at first seems like a random string of suicides soon reveals something far more sinister: There’s a serial killer on board. Suspicion falls on Finn, the newcomer to the ship. After all, he’s being sent home in disgrace, recalled from the field under the dark cloud of a mission gone horribly wrong.

Just what I had been waiting for!
Revisado: 02-05-22
Being ex-navy myself, I enjoyed this book. The spooky navy seal, the female helicopter pilot and her creepy boss. The captain and the exec along with the master chief and many others come together in the book to spin a great 'who done it.'
Imagine being on any ship with an unknown crew member out to murder you.
Good job with this book.

Revisado: 05-05-21
I enjoyed and appreciated the narration better than the story. Patrick Lawlor breathes life into a story. I intend to listen to more of his narrations in future books that I buy. It' s a good story and to me, narrator makes or breaks the book.

Historia
You’ve never met the other wives. None of you know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, you can see your husband only one day a week. But you love him so much you don’t care. Or at least that’s what you’ve told yourself. But one day, while you’re doing laundry, you find a scrap of paper in his pocket—an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and you just know it’s another of the wives.

Revisado: 03-28-20
I am the guy that likes war stories and action thrillers. I took a chance and used a credit for this book. I found myself enjoying the plot and the narrator.
A real slick player thinks he can manage three women at the same time. He is a liar, a manipulator and a wolf in sheep's clothing. He picks the wrong woman to play head games with. He is exposed in the end game and much more.
His grip on the triangle of sex and lies is crumbling before his eyes and he has to be dealt with harshly.

Historia
Jane’s days at a Midwest insurance company are perfectly ordinary. She blends in well, unremarkably pretty in her floral-print dresses and extra efficient at her low-level job. She’s just the kind of woman middle manager Steven Hepsworth likes - meek, insecure, and willing to defer to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is. Least of all Steven. But plain Jane is hiding something. And Steven’s bringing out the worst in her.

I picked this book at random to listen to. It was really entertaining for me waiting to see which shoe would drop next. I couldn't wait to get the headphones plugged back in again to see what this woman was going to do next.
I really enjoyed it. Sometimes revenge is sweet. One of the best narrators I have heard, she really made it real.

Very Good
Revisado: 08-29-18
This makes the nineteenth book I have read by Mr. Deutermann. Pacific Glory is my very favorite. I started with the Scorpion of the Sea years ago. Also, I have read the Cam Richter series.
This military novel follows a decorated submarine commander assigned to the Perth/Fremantle command in Australia during the early years of WW2.
His commanders feel like he is too young and promoted too fast. What they discover is they have a commander that only has one thing in mind, fight.
His officers and men think that he is too careless. But when you get results, that's what matters. This book is full of action and adventure.

Does crime pay?
Revisado: 07-12-18
I have a lot of books in my library, this one however I could not stop listening. Very well done, great narrator and a story that will grab you and keep you to the end.
Crime might pay, but can the average person pull it off? Can that person cover all the basses and still hit a home run?
I will look for more by Catherine Steadman.

Revisado: 01-28-18
This is a continuation of the Dan Lenson series. Packed with action and adventure. This time he has finally made it to Admiral not because they like him, it's because he gets results. This is a scary scenario of what could happen in the future. Lack of supplies and missiles along with technology that is constantly changing. Hi tech warfare and the highly trained personnel that have to operate the systems.

Here is the kind of authentically detailed epic novel that has become Louis L’Amour’s hallmark. It is the compelling story of US Air Force major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness.
