I read A LOT. Every aspect of this book is a masterpiece. I have around 3-4K books in my kindle and I have to say this one is in my top 5. If you like science based fiction it honestly does not get any better.

Once Again Kristen Ashley Makes A Masterpiece!

I very rarely take the time to write reviews, but I had to for this. This entire series is just magical. The character development, the story, the setting....all of it is just awesome. Everything Kristen Ashley writes is gold!

Very Very Disappointed!

If you listened to the first book in this series and thought it was really good and then quickly jumped to this one - be prepared to be severely disappointed. I do not mind sex scenes. I do not mind BDSM (even though it isn't my thing). I don't even mind kinky sex scenes. I do mind not one iota of real story (the first book has sex, but it also has a great story) with hours of unromantic, uncaring and sometimes degrading porn. The main heroine in this story is so sad. She allows herself to be utterly humiliated repeatedly while the main hero repeatedly threatens her with breaking up if she doesn't go along with EXTREME BDSM scenes (including a complete relinquishing of her safe word). He makes her get enemas, he makes her pee in the grass like a dog while she sobs, he makes her submit to humiliation over and over and she never indicates that the humiliation does anything to excite her - she submits so he won't leave her. It is pathetic. The first story in this series is touching and you watch a relationship unfold. This relationship is utterly toxic and made me really dislike Tex after really liking him in the first book. He is a jerk. So if you want a very kinky book that is literally about 90% kinky unromantic porn and BDSM with almost no real story - this is the one for you! So disappointed that the same person who wrote Shooter, wrote this.

Editing Please...Otherwise, great story.

First, the story is great as are all the Kristen Ashley stories I have read - she is awesome. Second, I disagree that the narrator is awful. She is not the best I have heard, but she was fine - I would say four stars. She does good voices etc... Her and the story were fine.

My problem is that no one edited this performance. Literally every few minutes there are very loud audible swallows and throat noises (perhaps the narrator had a cold). If it had been a couple times I would not have been bothered, but it is every minute or so for 18 hours - very loud audible swallowing. If those type of sounds gross you out (they do me) it is VERY distracting to the book. I would say that in essence that ruined this narration for me. If someone had edited out the swallows and noises then I would have said this was a five star book.

Great Anti-Hero Story

I thought this was a great "mafia" style story. The story itself is compelling and the voice acting is top notch. I especially loved the performance of the male voice actor. Pretty good!

Best Love Story!

I never take the time to write reviews but this time I had to. This story was exceptional. The reading was good too. The story is just so different and beautiful. About love and sacrifice. To the few people complaining that the "caveman" should not know the words that he is using - I do not understand this complaint. These are his THOUGHTS. Of course he does not know the word "pink", but he does know what pink is. Of course he describes sex as "making a baby" - this is a time where things are so harsh every action you do has a purpose. Of course he uses "big words", again they are his THOUGHTS. You would have the "big words" when your picturing something in your mind. This author just really knocked this one out of the park. Beautiful story with a new twist (and God knows it is rare you find anything original out there). I just wish she had more available on Audible. I would definitely want to read/listen to it!!!

Great Story....Horrifically BAD Narration

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the book - NOT the audio book. The story is good and engaging. However, this voice actor is atrocious. I mean REALLY bad. She rushes through the first chapters in a monotone quick reading and when she does do voices they are cheesy cartoon versions of a Boston accent. I can't believe they got such a bad reader to read such good books. I do not think I will be listening to the other books now as this actors reading was so bad, it ruined the story.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Absolutely bad bad bad reading.
