Historia
We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

READ IT! Not kidding!
Revisado: 03-17-23
This book has a tremendous amount of worthwhile information, all referenced, explained, and actually tried and used. I am seriously impressed. My dad is a neurologist who has done years of focused research, and has his opinions on anti-aging based on his research. My dad's going strong, still seeing patients, and is married to a woman years younger than me even though he's in his 90's, so it works. My dad's advice is great and pertinent, especially for my dad's biology, but Dave's advice goes far beyond this. Dave uses research and good common sense too. As a woman, I can now make well informed choices that make sense for me specifically. Not being tied by the medical industry means that Dave can say things openly... and does. I say "Thanks!!" I am going to try it!

Historia
Human beings are primates, and primates are political animals. Our brains, therefore, are designed not just to hunt and gather but also to help us get ahead socially, often via deception and self-deception. But while we may be self-interested schemers, we benefit by pretending otherwise. The less we know about our own ugly motives, the better - and thus, we don't like to talk, or even think, about the extent of our selfishness. This is "the elephant in the brain".

Don't hide this one!! Despite our true motives!!
Revisado: 05-02-22
This is a very smart, and sometimes hilarious book about our TRUE motivations that we lie to ourselves about... in everything. You will definitely recognize yourself and others within, so pour yourself a snifter and settle in! for a good read!! I WISH I were part of their conversations that led to writing ths! It is absolutely comical the lengths we all go to to hide and pretend, and get cred/kudos, and avoid prying knowledge of our actions... in real life people... that you never admit even to yourself, but it takes getting the information from various respectable sources to understand how they know rhis... that's the first half of the book! Then they go into lots of touchy topics like education, politics, religion, etc. and take a long, good look. Ahhhhh. Well done!!

Very interesting!
Revisado: 06-27-21
Despite her voice affliction that the author talks about, her voice was perfectly fine with plenty of personality. I did think parts of her story were somewhat sugar-coated, probably to present the best possible version of history, but the rest made me sweat a bit and wring my hands. There were pitfalls and triumphs. I have to go back to see if she talks about how she got out of paying the other Schmidt's 50% after the $38k contract for 50% control. This DID make me sweat. Maybe it was ugly and left out? It shouldn't have been if it was. It seems like Bob Schmidt just disappeared... not enough said. Nonetheless, I couldn't have done it. I now know why my own product could never make it big like this. I'm glad I have this information... errr... true story!

The Rogue Artist's Survival Guide is an undisciplined, story-centric, offbeat, and honest approach to demystify what it takes to become a full-time artist. It is designed to help you navigate the clusterfudge that is the art world. A decade ago, there was no guidebook to lead me away from the overcrowded and overly pompous art market toward success.

Revisado: 02-02-21
Well, I am an artist! This guy speaks the truth, is hilarious, and gave me a great perspective on the meaning of persistence. REAL persistence. I now have hope! I feel like I made a friend and am no longer trying to go it alone, explaining to everyone what I am trying to do and justifying what I am making up. Thank you (said with awe, and say hi to Klee for me who is obviously the bomb too!)!! I can't wait for your next book!

Slave Species of the Gods: The Secret History of the Anunnaki and Their Mission on Earth, 2nd Edition

Historia
Scholars have long believed that the first civilization on Earth emerged in Sumer some 6,000 years ago. However, as Michael Tellinger reveals, the Sumerians and Egyptians inherited their knowledge from an earlier civilization that lived at the southern tip of Africa and began with the arrival of the Anunnaki more than 200,000 years ago. Sent to Earth in search of life-saving gold, these ancient Anunnaki astronauts from the planet Nibiru created the first humans as a slave race to mine gold - thus beginning our global traditions of gold obsession, slavery, and god as dominating master.

Completely changed my world view
Revisado: 04-23-20
This is no joke. It really DID completely change my world view. I realize that some will say that this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, but this is not true. He has come up with a plausible and very likely beginning to homo sapien sapien by thoroughly researching every culture's and religion's historical documents, cities, ruins, artifacts, etc., etc., etc, since the beginning of time that we know. He painstakingly presents every detail and connects the dots with volumes of documentation throughout that you are probably familiar with and some not. It is so clear who we are and where we come from as a species. I see the reality behind so many things now, including all religions and their writings, practices and dogmatic rules, mythology, our own "slave" mentality, wars, politics, family relationships, etc. It's hard for me to look at rituals and not think where they came from and what they represent. If you are closed to allowing an "argument" to open you up to new thoughts, closed to the broadest picture of our world, opposed to changing the way you look at your own religion, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK because it will change you. It is mind blowing. I loved it!

The Synchronicity Key

Historia
Using history, astrology, and synchronicity theory as well as concepts such as fractals, spiritual geometry, quantum physics, and other new research, Wilcock shows that there is a hidden architecture within time, guiding individuals and nations through a system of enlightenment Joseph Campbell called the Hero’s Journey. Historical events occur in shockingly precise, repeating cycles of time as a result. Once we understand and identify the hidden laws governing the fates of individuals and nations through seemingly random "synchronicity", we are left with a remarkable blueprint of how best to lead our lives in this uncertain and confusing world.

Powerful information
Revisado: 09-09-19
Just like Source Field Investigations, this book is packed with mind boggling information. The only low point in the book was a quite large personal section where Wilkin tends to wallow in all the childhood and teenage mean boy atrocities perpetrated on him. We all had those in our past and most of us have been victims, and anyone who didn't should realize that their victims are older and wiser, and know who they are inside. I thought it was excruciating to re-live through and almost quit the book. But I'm glad I didn't! I learned hugely important things that I am still reeling from. Now I have to decide what I want to believe and what I am going to do about it. The real key is to keep an open mind! It may all be right and true!

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

This extraordinary document represents a new form of historical research and straightens out many open questions and misinterpretations. It takes the form of direct dialogues between a modern researcher and a member of the Qumran Essene community. Alive around the time of Christ, this community has become the focus of ideas about the connection of Jesus' teachings to earlier traditions.
