Historia
Of the 1.3 million active-duty service members in the US military, only a tiny fraction are selected as “operators.” Shannon Kent was one of the first women to serve at this level and was widely recognized as one of the best. Shannon served as a Navy cryptologic technician, responsible for signals intelligence and electronic warfare, but her proficiency with language set her apart. She was assigned to a unit so secretive that its name can’t even be printed here, where she worked clandestinely to hunt the most wanted terrorists in the world.

Don't waste the money
Revisado: 10-04-24
Decent story worth telling. The entire book was braggadocios in nature. Sure, the operator was elite, most are. However, the reader did not need to be reminded every 90 seconds how magical the principal was. Seemed more like a husband fawning over his amazing wife. The woman was a trailblazer worthy of study and explanation. However, the constant gushing was a real drag.

Not worth the expense. Really have to question the veracity of the author’s story. Probably not the Mother Theresa he portrays himself to be.

Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

Really enjoyed the book but this guy needs a slice of humble pie. Done some great things but that was overshadowed by the chronic arrogance not typical of the “quiet professionals.”

Clint Emerson is the only SEAL ever inducted into the International Spy Museum. Operating from the shadows, with an instinct for running towards trouble, his unique skill set made him the perfect hybrid of elite and modern day counterintelligence agent. Emerson spent his career on the bleeding edge of intelligence and operations, often specializing in solo missions that took advantage of subterfuge, improvisation, the best in recon and surveillance tech, and even elements of Hollywood disguise to combat the changing global battlefield.

Historia
An insider's sometimes shocking account of how Defense Secretary James Mattis led the US military through global challenges while serving as a crucial check on the Trump Administration. For nearly two years as Trump's Secretary of Defense, General James Mattis maintained a complicated relationship with the president. A lifelong Marine widely considered to be one of America's greatest generals, Mattis was committed to keeping America safe. Yet he served a President whose actions were frequently unpredictable and impulsive with far-reaching consequences.

Yet another sellout looking to profit....
Revisado: 11-05-19
Do not spend your money on this book. There are no Trump administration revelations or anything new about Secretary Mattis. This is simply a story written by a low-level Pentagon staffer that was a speech writer. The author is hardly the patriot he wants the listener to believe. Sorry your military career fell apart but writing a sell-out book about the most regarded general of the millennium was not the answer.

Too much redaction.....
Revisado: 11-30-17
Good narrative, tough story to tell given the classification constraints. I appreciated the attention to the bureaucratic hurdles the author faced; they are often left out by people who share similar stories. The constant redaction took away from an otherwise positive experience.
