Historia
Just two months into his presidency, Ronald Reagan lay near death after a gunman's bullet came within inches of his heart. His recovery was nothing short of remarkable - or so it seemed. But Reagan was grievously injured, forcing him to encounter a challenge that few men ever face. Could he silently overcome his traumatic experience while at the same time carrying out the duties of the most powerful man in the world?

Not about the assassination attempt.
Revisado: 10-02-15
Although the book is interesting, it is not really about the assassination attempt. Much like Patton, it is more about the man. That's ok, but the title is misleading.
I am always annoyed when the author is too lazy to narrate their own book. Since O'Reilly has done so in the past, I did not notice this before ordering.

Historia
America's first families are unknowable in many ways. No one has insight into their true character like the people who serve their meals and make their beds every day. Full of stories and details by turns dramatic, humorous, and heartwarming, The Residence reveals daily life in the White House as it is really lived through the voices of the maids, butlers, cooks, florists, doormen, engineers, and others who tend to the needs of the president and first family.

Annoying impressions
Revisado: 05-17-15
The book itself would be fair, absent the time it spends on faux racial issues. Most annoying is the narrator's impersonations of staff and other figures. Apparently everyone at the WH speaks like an 80 year old southern woman, even Richard Nixon. The notable exception was the French pastry chef, who apparently spoke like an 80 year old Russian woman. It became so annoying I could barely finish the book. The book, as it turns out is about the staff more than the occupants

Historia
On the eve of the Civil War, one soldier embodied the legacy of George Washington and the hopes of a divided land. Both North and South knew Robert E. Lee as the son of Washington's most famous eulogist and the son-in-law of Washington's adopted child. Each side sought his services for high command. Lee could choose only one. The decision he made would change history.

Excellent account

This is an excellent account of the civil war from the perspective we seldom hear. That of a patriot forced to fight against the union he wanted

For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Not about Killing Patton
Revisado: 09-30-14
Where does Killing Patton rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I enjoyed the book. I would rate it in the top third
If you’ve listened to books by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard before, how does this one compare?
I enjoyed the book but the title is misleading
What about Bill O'Reilly’s performance did you like?
He does not sound like he is reading
Any additional comments?
This is a good book, but it is not about "killing Patton". It does offer a unique take on the interactions of our leaders during WW2. It eludes to conspiracy theories at the end, but not much. The book is well worth listening to, but if you are expecting new revelations on the death of this hero, you won't find it here

Two hundred and rising. That's the death tally for the Obama administration's "Operation Fast & Furious." The program was supposedly designed to "win the drug war" by deliberately walking more than two thousand guns across the border to Mexico. But instead of catching drug lords, Fast & Furious armed the very kingpins it was supposed to trap.

like listening to siri read
Revisado: 05-04-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
No. the "reciter's" voice was distracting. I would have rather read the book
What didn’t you like about Emily Durante’s performance?
It was like listening to Siri read a book. It seemed she was just reading and did not have a command of the content

Historia
The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history - how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....
