the tension. the turns. the plot... THE ENDING???!
Revisado: 10-09-24
oh.my.God. this is the only book that has actual made me almost vomit with thrill and terror. the character of Jeremey is so thought out (fleshed out, for some irony), and complex he makes the entire story a mystery. every scene with him is more gripping, and horrifying than the last, and somehow HE GETS WORSE!
Alaina; hats off, chef's kiss, and whatever other colorful phrase, to you girl. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!

good stories, worst delivery ever
Revisado: 10-12-23
the stories were chilling, but the narrator took a singular too fast, almost happy tone the whole time. I need to feel the fear in sentences like ". I'm glad I didn't see the baby's head hit the wall". she sounded like a complaining teen, and not like any character that was portrayed. I can't finish the stories.

Unexpectedly good
Revisado: 11-06-21
This started playing as an "included in my membership" item, and I didn't stop it. It was a little weird with an 'underage' element, but honestly the story was better than I thought it was. I just wish I had listened to it with headphones instead of out loud at work :p
I loved the story and the readers change of voice, she does a good job with each characters voice.

Historia
Sometimes you slip through the cracks: unforeseen circumstances like an abrupt illness, the death of a loved one, a breakup, or a job loss can derail a life. These periods of dislocation can be lonely and unexpected. For May, her husband fell ill, her son stopped attending school, and her own medical issues led her to leave a demanding job. Wintering explores how she not only endured this painful time, but embraced the singular opportunities it offered. Ultimately Wintering invites us to change how we relate to our own fallow times.
