Historia
Any wedding is a big deal in the small village of Kilbane - even more so when the bride is a famous fashion model. It's also good for business; Siobhan O'Sullivan's bistro will be catering the three-day affair. When the drunken best man is disinvited, Siobhan's own beau, Macdara, gladly steps in. But finding the original best man murdered in the woods casts a pall over the nuptials. And when a second member of the wedding party is poisoned, Macdara goes from being best man to prime suspect.

I thoroughly enjoyed this very entertaining story which kept me guessing right until the end. If you love a really good Whodonit, then you'll enjoy all the twists and turns as bistro owner Siobhan follows the trail to uncover the murderer. This is the second book I've listened to in this series and it didn't disappoint. Great author and wonderful narrator.

Another wonderful book about the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. Love all Alexander McCall Smith's ... they are so entertaining and his characters' observations on life give much food for thought. Congratulations to Adjoa Andoh - she is such a talented narrator. I'm always sorry even I get to the end of the books.

Historia
Cotswolds inhabitants are used to bad weather, but the night sky is especially foggy as Rory and Molly Harris, the new vicar and his wife, drive slowly home from a dinner party in their village of Sumpton Harcourt. They struggle to see the road ahead - but then screech to a halt. Right in front of them, aglow in the headlights of their car, a body hangs from a lightning-blasted tree at the edge of town. But it's not suicide; Margaret Darby, an elderly spinster of the parish, has been murdered - and the villagers are bewildered as to who would commit such a crime, and why.

Historia
From the bustling streets of post-Great War London to the idyllic 1920s Sussex countryside, this is a breathtaking story of passion and persistence from a phenomenal Australian storyteller about how true love can overcome incredible odds, even in the most extraordinary circumstances. A humble soldier, known only as "Jones", wakes in hospital with no recollection of his past. The few fleeting fragments of memory he glimpses are horrifying moments from the battlefield at Ypres.

The story opens at the end of WWII in a London hospital for injured servIcemen where preparations are underway to celebrate "peace in our time". However, one of the patients, who has recovered from his physical injuries, is struggling with amnesia. And so begins his story which has so many twists and turns. ...

Historia
The latest novel in Alexander McCall Smith's much-loved Isabel Dalhousie series. Recently distracted by the arrival of her and Jamie's second son, Magnus, Isabel Dalhousie - philanthropic editor of the Review of Applied Ethics - is anxious. The next issue of the Review is far from ready, her eldest, Charlie, is jealous, and their housekeeper, Grace, has an officious approach to childcare. With some relief, Isabel returns to helping out at her niece Cat's delicatessen, where surely the most taxing duty is the preparation of sandwiches.

Most enjoyable audio book.
Revisado: 11-04-15
I really enjoyed this book. It is set in the Englitsh Midlands in the 1800s when children and adults worked long hours in the mill or mine for. low wages. Fortunate to be part of a happy though poor family, Marianne 's strong character comes to the fore when an incident at the mill sets her on a path that will change her life. She is presented with many challenges as the story progresses and will need every ounce of courage she possesses. I absolutely loved the narration by Charie Sanderson. She has a real gift for storytelling and her ability to use regional accents is so good. She certainly did justice to Rosie Goodwin 's lovely book.

Historia
Not long after her parents' separation, heralded by an awkward scene involving a wet Daily Telegraph and a pan of cold eggs, nine-year-old Lizzie Vogel, her sister and little brother and their now-divorcée mother are packed off to a small, slightly hostile village in the English countryside. Their mother is all alone, only 31 years of age, with three young children and a Labrador. It is no wonder, when you put it like that, that she becomes a menace and a drunk. And a playwright.

Most enjoyable book
Revisado: 10-21-15
This was my first audio book and I congratulate the narrator who related the story so well. The unfolding tale is told from the perspective of a young girl, Lizzie, now an adult, of a fairly wealthy family split apart by unfaithfulness. The mother and three children move from the city to a village where they don't seem very well liked. Adapting to their changed circumstances throws up many challenges and with a mother seeming unable to cope, the children decide the only solution is to find a new man for their mother. Their efforts are both funny and entertaining. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
