Wow!
Revisado: 01-20-24
Although usually drawn to fiction and mystery novels, I was drawn to this book due to the subject matter of self healing and moving on after surviving a relationship with a sociopathic narcissist, one of the most dangerous individuals to become involved with. I too was a survivor of a disastrous relationship with one for over 3 yrs. Kiersten’s story mirrored my own with the exception that I was physically abused off and on before finally filing a restraining order. I only wish that I’d have had “little voices” to help guide me back to a healthy space! It’s been 20years since that dark time in my life but even thinking about what I went through and put my family through I get a gut punch every single time! Thank you Kiersten for your honest accounting of your life story and giving me some tips on getting more in touch with my own intuition!

Talk about a plot twist!
Revisado: 06-08-23
Never disappointed with Charly Cox and her work with this series, love the characters and how each book gently weaves the last in the series line without repeating every nuance - you can jump in at book 3 with no problem but I recommend starting at book 1. Characters are distinct and believable, Narration is good, spoken in the character of Allysa a seasoned detective whose seen and experienced more evil than one should be witness to. Great series that has always turned my head around with the plot twist!

Wonderful read!!
Revisado: 04-03-22
1st book was good but the narrator was less than desirable- well she must have read the undesirable reviews and amped it us with this book! The story content was great, the research seemed accurate and the characters believable! Well done Allison Brennan! Next book waiting for late April release!

Good story - not so good narration
Revisado: 03-29-22
I was engaged right off with the story, the mystery, the underlying angst but the narration flatlined it for me. A great performance can make a good story a fantastic experience but a bad narration can kill the whole experience. They should have had more than one narrator for this novel as I had to constantly back my book up over and over again to figure out which character was speaking. Ms. Fortin should have had a male partner to do they male voices for this novel to slow things down and separate the characters.

So much nonsensical drivel!
Revisado: 09-28-21
The storyline started out interesting and promising enough but soon fell short as one of the most intriguing parts could have been how 5 orphans actually made it all the way from NYC to Montana and the struggles along the way but that part of the story was skipped over in a matter of a short paragraph straight into Montana territory and it’s whining heroine, extremely hick town accented brothers and Harrison the fake sounding Scott! Narration was extremely bad and I couldn’t help eye rolling over so much of this story. I live in the Midwest so I take it as an insult that westerners are made out to be dim witted and simple! The cast of characters Dully, Ghost, Blue Belle and even the Judge we’re so poorly thrown together I felt like I was listening to a western play on Dumb and Dummer!

Oh how I enjoyed this story of love, compassion, danger, darkness and light! I watched the movie and was saddened by how much raw content that impregnated the original story was cut by movie standards of a 2 hr film meant for cinema- although the picture followed very close to the story line, nothing compares to a great read, or in this case an inspiring listen!
