not a fan of the AI voice. It is just not the same.
Revisado: 05-05-25
I am not a fan of the AI voice. It is just not the same as a real person. It pauses in awkward moments and inflections and tone is just all wrong. I understand the need to cut costs but the story loses its appeal when you’re constantly distracted by the strange pauses, etc. I enjoyed the story but I feel I’m going to pass on listening to the next one in the series if it is AI. maybe read the next one in old school style.

The AI voice. Weird voice inflections and tone
Revisado: 03-23-25
Didn’t like the AI voice. Weird voice inflections and tone. Difficult to get past. Took me a while to get used to it. The story was good for a cozy mystery. Light read for fun and not much graphic shock value murder like other books.

Enjoyed story…narrator was an acquired taste
Revisado: 04-16-23
I enjoyed the story. All of those who rated it poorly, need to consider the era in which it was it was written. This is post WWI and pre WWII Prejudice, bigotry, lack of trust and suspicion were very present in Europe and UK. So to rate a story based on this as compared to what’s viewed today is unfair. Although the world even in 2023, still has those issues, they’re more subtle. So, that said and considering era, I enjoyed the book. Like classic Sherlock Holmes, Poirot and miss marple with complicated methods of how and who done it, the author doesn’t disappoint and I like that. However, the narrator was an acquired taste for me. The drawling English accent and rather nasally tone got on my last nerve in parts. Sometimes his portrayal of lord whimsy made him sound like he didn’t have a brain in his head. So listeners, be prepared. Overall, I’ll listen to more of her books from the perspective of when it was written and the knowledge that the narrator is going to annoy me. 😁
