I loved Amazon's story and loved, even more, the way it was told in this book. It was impartial. It showed the good and the bad side.

The main thing I take away from this book is the fact that Amazon started selling books. Look at how they are now. They never lost sight of their vision to be The Everything Store.

It's the best audiobook I've listened to so far. It has everything: storytelling, Will Smith's performance, and songs. Brilliant production.

Will is an admirable person. He has won in life. But this book isn't the story about how he managed to be so successful. It's a story about his flaws. It's about humanizing a superstar.

I loved how honest this book is. Will has a great story to tell and he knows exactly how to do it. A great actor, a great musician, and a human just like us after all. It's super inspiring.

This book dives deep into the lives of amazing leaders. It brings the light and the darkness of every one of them. These men weren’t similar, they didn’t follow a recipe to get where they’ve got. But each one of them, with their unique set of skills and flaws, changed the course of history. That’s the power of Leadership.

Learn how we make decisions

Decisive reminds me a lot of Daniel Kahneman's book Thinking Fast and Slow. This book got me hooked on reading about how the human mind works. It's fascinating how much we brag about being the only rational species in the world, but we still do a bunch of irrational things.

What I've taken away from reading Decisive:

- Attain distance. Get help, analyze what others would do in your situation;
- We may think we are unique, but in the grand scope of the universe, we're quite trivial;
- Fight against confirmation bias. Look for disconfirming evidence. Talk to people that disagree with you;
- Avoid narrow framing. Be careful with decisions that are "Whether or not";
- Be careful about doing things in the automatic pilot;
- Overconfidence may get you in trouble;
- The future is not a point, it's a spectrum/range. Be careful about predicting the future;
- Presume that you may be wrong;
- The biggest villain of decision-making: YOU!

The creative process is HARD

Here are my main learnings reading Creativity Inc:
- “The past should be our teacher, not our master.” Don’t let past mistakes or misjudgments control the rest of your life. Accept that you’ll always have blind spots. That’s the hard truth!
- Ideas are like caterpillars. They are fragile. Everybody thinks that Pixar’s movies were born perfect. No!! It was an ugly baby when it was born. It needed several iterations and feedback to improve;
- Conflict is good. Don't run away from it. Chase it;
- Ease was never the goal. Excellence is.

As a side bonus, it was super fun to learn about what happened in the background of the idealization of amazing movies like Toy Story. I could feel the struggle. I could feel the joy.

Such a complex guy!
Throughout the book, I loved and hated Steve. He was amazing, but sometimes an a**hole.

He didn't mind being the number 1 of the market, he cared about building GREAT PRODUCTS. He was persistent. Even when the world was telling him to bend, he didn't do it. He persisted in making things work for Pixar. He persisted in making his end-to-end solutions. And no one can deny the treasures he had created in his lifetime.

I've mainly got this book to learn more about product management and ended up learning a lot not only about this but about life. I really loved it.

Jobs never relied too much on market research. He counted on his intuition. He made big bets. Some ended up being a disaster. But some changed the world.

I've felt very connected. I've felt inspired. Thank you for everything, Steve.

Managing a business is hard. You have to decide between terrible and horrible decisions. It's a job for superhumans.

The final and main lesson I've learned from the book: If you want to become a successful CEO, you gotta learn how to embrace the struggle.

We are strange creatures

We are strange creatures. It's odd to realize that we, human beings, are so proud of our rationality, but at the same time, so blind to our irrationality. If all humans acted rationally, we wouldn't have the problems we have. But at the same time, society would be boring.

This book is so eye-opening as Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. And if you loved this book, you'll love Predictably Irrational.

We are extremely biased and irrational. That's our nature. But we can prevent it by creating systems that help us be better human beings.
