Historia
When widow Gwen Andrews is coerced into hosting a last-minute judge for the upcoming music competition, her sedate life takes an unexpected and potentially deadly turn. After the uninvited guest goes missing, Gwen becomes the primary person of interest in this suspicious situation. Desperate to find the truth and clear her name, the once-passive Gwen delves into her houseguest’s past, unaware that she’s putting herself in harm’s way as she stumbles upon decades-old secrets that could rock the foundations of the seemingly placid college town.

Never again
Revisado: 02-14-24
I will never again listen to a book with virtual voice. It was particularly excruciating with the weak dialogue of this particular novel. The story wasn’t awful, but the interactions between the characters was not even the slightest bit believable. At times it almost felt like a Dick and Jane book, made even more so by the virtual voice. Not my favorite.

Historia
When the rules turn deadly, winning is everything. Only available from Audible, a gripping psychological thriller from the author of Silent Child, Saving April, and The Broken Ones. Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, Lisa Jewell and Paula Hawkins. The perfect couple. The perfect marriage. The perfect game. Effie and Ben May have everything. Success. Beauty. Glamour. But beneath the charming smiles and expensive clothes, a twisted game is in progress. A game for which only they know the rules.

Great story!
Revisado: 02-10-24
I could have done without the music and sound effects which gave it a quality of silliness. And the breathy speak of the woman who did Effie’s voice drove me to distraction at first, but I got used to it. Please don’t do a pretend laugh while you speak on an audiobook. But the story was super compelling. It was hard to put down.

Historia
From age 11, in 1974, until she left the show, in 1981, Melissa Anderson literally grew up before the viewers of Little House on the Prairie. Melissa, as Mary, is remembered by many as the blind sister - and she was the only actor in the series to be nominated for an Emmy. In The Way I See It, she takes listeners onto the set and inside the world of the iconic series created by Michael Landon, who, Melissa discovered, was not perfect, as much as he tried to be. In this memoir she also shares her memories of working with guest stars like Todd Bridges, Mariette Hartley, Sean Penn, Patricia Neal, and Johnny Cash.

Just awful. If you enjoy memoirs of a self serving narcissist this is for you.
