Thrilling non stop action adventure
Revisado: 01-11-25
Deadman’s Gulch is so action packed I’m completely hooked! Rory Stouder has crafted a story that feels both epic and personal, with characters you can’t help but root for. Colonel Stone and his team are a perfect mix of tough, resourceful, and relatable, and the tension between the Rangers, the colonists, and the Black Ring Syndicate kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
The world-building is vivid and engaging, and the action scenes are so well-written that I felt like I was right there with the Rangers, fighting to survive. What I loved most, though, is how the story balances high-stakes action with real emotional weight. It’s not just about the battles—it’s about the people.
On top of that, Stephen Dalton’s narration absolutely brings this book to life. His ability to give each character a distinct voice and personality made it feel like I was listening to a blockbuster movie. The emotional beats hit harder, and the intense moments had me holding my breath. Dalton’s performance captured the grit and heart of the story perfectly, adding an extra layer of immersion that made it hard to stop listening.
I’m already counting down the days until the next book in the series. If this is just the beginning of Ranger Group 42, I can’t wait to see what’s next! Highly recommend if you love sci-fi with heart.

Space and time form the very fabric of the cosmos. Yet they remain among the most mysterious of concepts. Is space an entity? Why does time have a direction? Could the universe exist without space and time? Can we travel to the past?

Really enjoyed this book, I only wish it was Brian Greene narrating it, as I really enjoyed the TV series based on this book

History of Great science fiction
Revisado: 03-18-17
The title of "How Great Science Fiction Works." Is very misleading, most of this lecture is a summary history of science fiction. He does talk about the differences between different genres of science fiction. But there is really not much in the terms of How you can get your novel to work as great science fiction. If you are looking for an introduction to new or old science fiction novels this is a great map to find new to you books. But as a map of how it works not so much.
