I love John Irving‘s books because they are so weird and about things no one else would ever think of. However “Until I Find You” is so long it is exhausting. Arthur Morey’s narration was outstanding but it was still too, too long and detailed.

There were a lot of battles.

I knew very little about Bolivar and this was enlightening. The man seemed to spend his life in battle and in bed. The battles got boring. Interesting insights at the end were helpful in understanding the continuing dictator problems in South America.

Cavalry, Calvary, O'Reilly doesn't know the diff.

Apparently there is no audible editor for Bill. He spent too much time in religious school and not enough time at the dictionary. He refers to the part of the military using horses as the Calvary EVERY TIME. I liked the sidelights to history that this story provided but the reader's problems with the language were disturbing.

The narrator was meant to sound like an indian and he did but his voice got a little boring and it would have been nice if a female actor could be used to speak the women's parts.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth McGovern – was your favorite?
All the characters were wonderfully done with great accents. Elizabeth McGovern is a wonderful actress. I especially liked her Kansas accent.
