Historia
Mikira Rusel’s family has long been famous for breeding enchanted horses, but their prestige is no match for their rising debts. To save her ranch, Mikira has only one option: she must win the Illinir, a treacherous horserace whose riders either finish maimed or murdered. Yet each year, competitors return, tempted by its alluring prize money and unparalleled prestige. Mikira’s mission soon unites her with Arielle Kadar, an impressive yet illicit enchanter just beginning to come into her true power, and Damien Adair, a dashing young lord in the midst of a fierce succession battle.

Horses and Heresy
Revisado: 01-04-24
Being a horse girl through and through, I devoured this book and really appreciated the research the author did to accurately portray horse riding throughout this book.
Aside from that, this book inspired me to research further into Jewish mythology and I found her magic system to be unique and intriguing enough that I am chomping at the bit for the sequel.
I enjoyed the dynamics between the 4 main characters and the organic growth that occured between them. It was not all sunshine and instant trust with complexities added into the relationships that I loved.
Overall, one of my favorite reads of 2023 and I cannot wait for the next book.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Dragons and Daddy Xaden
Revisado: 01-04-24
I will begin by saying this audiobook helped me with the pronunciation of a lot of these names seeing as I was definitely saying them wrong from just reading. This narrator was perfect for this book and her performance honestly made this book even more immersive.
While I will admit some of the plot twists were predictable and heavily foreshadowed, they were still delivered with enough emotion that I became more invested with each revelation.
The chemistry between the two main love interests did come off as a bit forced in this book but I am hoping that will leave room for improvement in Iron Flame instead.

Historia
They call me a slut. Maybe I am. Sometimes I do things I despise. Sometimes men take without asking. But I have a musical gift, only a year left of high school, and a plan. With one obstacle. Emeric Marceaux doesn’t just take. He seizes my will power and bangs it like a dark note. When he commands me to play, I want to give him everything. I kneel for his punishments, tremble for his touch, and risk it all for our stolen moments.

Dark yet Delightful
Revisado: 01-04-24
I will begin by saying these narrators were perfect and really made me enjoy this book so much more than when I read it.
This book had me crying, laughing, cringing, and promising myself that I wanted to grow as much as Ivory did throughout this book.
While some of the darker parts were maybe too graphic to truly add to the story, the author did a fantastic job of building a story that I was completely invested in and could not wait to see how it ended.
