Historia
We colonized 700 planets. Humankind enjoyed the benefits of expansion room and the end of wars. We even disbanded our military. Then the Krall found us. The Krall have used thousands of years of combat to select the genes of the strongest and fastest warriors. They are a species determined to dominate the entire galaxy, through destruction and annihilation of every opponent.
Koban is an uninhabited high-gravity planet with impossibly fast savage animals, which employ organic superconducting nerves. This deadly world is where the Krall tested humans for war capability.

New, Revamped, Narration is MUCH Better!

Good story - not so good narration
Revisado: 04-27-15
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator constantly put emphasis on words that changed the meaning of the story and it just sounds wrong... It's like the reader tries to emphasize something in every sentence and that's just not how people talk... Annoying to me.

Historia
Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle, award-winning authors of such best sellers as Footfall and The Legacy of Heorot, return us to the Mote, and to the universe of Kevin Renner and Horace Bury, of Rod Blaine and Sally Fowler. There, 25 years have passed since humanity quarantined the mysterious aliens known as Moties within the confines of their own solar system. They have spent a quarter century analyzing and agonizing over the deadly threat posed by the only aliens mankind has ever encountered - a race divided into distinct biological forms, each serving a different function: Master, Mediator, Engineer, Warrior.

Great story/ shakey performance
Revisado: 11-18-13
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Narrator seriously needs to work on emphasis in the phrasing of sentences. Quite obvious mistakes and they change the meaning of the script. Needs to read for understanding of the dialog.
Any additional comments?
Great story, narrator has decent character definition. Wish he understood what was being read.

The Mote In God's Eye is their acknowledged masterpiece, an epic novel of mankind's first encounter with alien life that transcends the genre. No lesser an authority than Robert A. Heinlein called it "possibly the finest science fiction novel I have ever read".

Great story but fumbled performance
Revisado: 11-18-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Mote in God's Eye to be better than the print version?
I like both but the performance in the audible version was a let down.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The performers voice and characters are quite good but there are very many mis-pronunciations and inflections that are misplaced in the sentence. It changes the meaning of the script and is quite distracting for me. I still love the audible book but wish the reader would do a little research into terms and work on understanding what the character is trying to say.

Crushed between two monstrous fleets, the last defenders of Star Force must forge their own alliance with the biotic aliens. But which alien race can Riggs truly trust?
