A good book to read.

I give rhis 5 stars because he walked it and lived it and narrated it.
As a future thru hiker im always listening for mishaps, animal encounters, weather conditions and temperatures. I feel it will give me insight for my adventures. As for the scenery no words can describe how you feel when you see it, but it's also the motivation to do it yourself. Good book.

Expected more about the PCT.

The PCT seems to be like the backround noise of a lowlit bar with Gail in a dark corner sipping her wine waiting on her next encounter with someone who doesn't even care about the hike. The narrator did an excellent job, telling a story.

Uncle Randy served in Vietnam that's why I read it

My whole family said uncle Randy never spoke about Vietnam.
One drunken night after the bar, he told me a horrific story, with tears filling his eyes that never dripped out onto his face.
I never spoke of it either. This book is just 1 mans life. There were thousands. They took turns in the battlefields.
At the end . Meeting the enemy after the war.

Natural medicines. Alot of smoking. Indian trades

3 things I didn't expect to hear about.
Medicines, Smoking, Trades in this story really shows the time period and the way people acted towards each other.
This story barely made it to publication . They were thought to be dead. An amazing feat for sure.
My imagination never changed during the event I felt I was there.

More than a grow guide.

Great book. Will be my guide on my first garfen. Now just have to move to a state where I won't get arrested.
Damn Govt .
The author gives plenty of information on the history of the plant, the uses of the plant, the laws that prevent it from being utilized and what you need to do if you want to pursue the endeavor..
Practice makes perfect seems like the key, plus using the correct soil, seeds, water, nutrients, and ability to scope the plant and see whats its doing and the stage its at.
Good gardening to all you out there.

A great journey.

A great journey, during an era long forgotten.
Amazing details . The decisions these men had to make.
The interactions made with each other during conflicting weather or rough terrain are bold.
The spirit of the journey itself kept these men going.
I love reading journals and now I'm goona read the book that was finally written after the war of 1812.
