Historia
When Sukie's husband shacks up with her Pilates instructor, her domestic drama becomes the talk of her small Georgia town. Friends from her married life prove fickle, and Sukie hides at home, terrified of encountering the town gossips at the grocery store. Betsy, Sukie's neighbor, invites her to join "Fat Fridays", a weekly gathering at a local café where the women order whatever they crave - no calories counted. Over sausage pizza and sage advice, Sukie gets a grip on her new life.

The bitter girls club
Revisado: 05-14-18
I started this book thinking it would be an empowering book about sisterhood. I though it would be like the Jane Austen Book Club or Young Wives Club, or Bridget Jones Diary, or Fried Green Tomatoes, or the Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisters. I was surprised to see how unkind and unhappy all the characters were and how they all seemed to dislike anyone who was not in their Fat Friday club. Instead of lifting each other up all these woman did in the first five chapters was tear others down. It was so negative that I stopped listening during chapter 5. One woman hates her in-laws and thinks her husband is unsupportive, another hates her daughter in-law and doesn't miss her husband who passed away because he was boring, a third only married her husband because she became pregnant in college and didn't really like him and then can't understand why he would leave her for "a bimbo who can't even put together a simple dinner", and a fourth hates her parents who are too needy and "like stones around her neck." I just didn't like how unhappy all the characters were with their lives and the constant complaining. I thought they would form a club to lift each other up not to complain about others.

Historia
It is a good thing that mothers understand what no one else seems to when you are the youngest child in the family, and are finally four years old. Bonnie is more than ready to join her older sisters and brother in the many adventures she sees come their way, whether it be sliding along the ice, searching for arrowheads, or going on that journey of all journeys-across the swinging bridge to school.

cute and sweet
Revisado: 04-15-17
My 7 year old daughter enjoyed this book very much. It is a sweet and nice story. Good for younger children but not as exciting or adventurous as the Box Car Children or Pippi Long Stocking. But that said my daughter wants to hear all the follow up stories by the author.

Historia
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle loves everyone, and everyone loves her right back. The Children love her because she is lots of fun. Their parents love her because she can cure children of absolutely any bad habit. The treatments are unusual, but they work! Who better than a pig, for instance, to teach a piggy little boy table manners? And what better way to cure the rainy-day "waddle-I-do's" than hunt for pirate treasure in Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's upside-down house?

sweet but not as good as the original
Revisado: 04-14-17
The narrator was excellent. She does voices beautifully. My 7 year old very much enjoyed this book. I thought the first one was a bit more clever. Ms. Pigglewiggle cures children of bad habits such as telling on each and bad manners. There were a few more gender stereotypes in this book than the original but nothing major. Just a few references to how nice it is when women cook. Over all it was cute and entertaining. I definitely recommend it!

Historia
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle lives in an upside-down house and smells like cookies. She was even married to a pirate once. Most of all, she knows everything about children. She can cure them of any ailment. Patsy hates baths. Hubert never puts anything away. Allen eats v-e-r-y slowly. Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle has a treatment for all of them.

wonderful children's books
Revisado: 04-12-17
This book was very enjoyable. My daughter and I listened to it on a road trip. Each chapter tells a story about a different child learning to overcome normally children's problems such as talking back or not wanting to clean their room or take a bath. The stories were sweet and engaging and emphasize good values without being preachy or old fashion. The reader was also very good. I would say good for ages 4 through second grade. But older children with younger siblings would probably be fine with listening as well.

stands the the test of time

This was one of my favorite books growing up and my 6 year old daughter and her friends ages 6 and 7 also loved it. The stories are fun, exciting, playful and Pippi always comes out on top. Great for girls and boys. But really great for adventurous girls. I would say ages 6-11 but maybe older.
