Historia
In 1909, Clementine steps off a train with her new husband, Winston. An angry woman emerges from the crowd to attack, shoving him in the direction of an oncoming train. Just before he stumbles, Clementine grabs him by his suit jacket. This will not be the last time Clementine Churchill will save her husband. Lady Clementine is the ferocious story of the ambitious woman beside Winston Churchill, the story of a partner who did not flinch through the sweeping darkness of war, and who would not surrender either to expectations or to enemies.

Clementine was lovely
Revisado: 10-03-24
I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Marie previously but Clementine just didn’t quite capture my attention like some other stories. It was enjoyable but not super captivating.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Why doesn’t Audible promote John Irving?

Underwhelming
Revisado: 04-12-23
I wanted to love it because I’ve enjoyed so many of John Irving’s other novels. However, I had a hard time sustaining attention and engagement. I don’t think that was really due to the links, although it was a very long book. I agree with some of the other reviews That there was a lot of patterns repeated from past novels, but in a way that was more difficult to connect with. The screen play chapters were quite difficult to follow. I suppose someone that writes screen please might be able to truly appreciate this part of the novel, but I really disliked it. Contrary to some other reviews, I was able to connect to the characters overall it was pretty depressing.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

****DONT BUY IF YOU BOUGHT THE BOOK “four”
Revisado: 07-30-20
I am so confused by all of the books that fall under the series FOUR. I initially purchased Four- Which was so odd in regards to the flow and timeline of the stories being told in this one book that I thought it was a random teaser book for the series FOUR. I thought it was very misleading that the initial book described four stories...Those there was no clear delineation of more than one story in this book, except for the odd Last few chapters which backtracked in such a confusing way that I was not able to follow the authors intention. I went on to purchase The four stories of FOUR which had tiny details added but for the most part we’re just dissected versions of the book FOUR. It’s very disjointed and the series ends leaving you unfulfilled and expecting more of an ending. Unless you really just loved anything related to the divergent series and you’re up for some short incomplete stories, I would sadly Recommend bypassing this series

Huh?
Revisado: 07-29-20
Maybe I missed something here.. but This is just a partial story of the FOUR series. Towards the end of this book it revisits a piece that’s missing in the middle. It was very unclear but this is not one of the 4 books told from Four’s perspective . I don’t know if it was just an initial teaser but im totally disappointed I wasted my credit on this instead of the actual 1st book in the series. Four: the transfer
