Historia
The day I was told I’d never be able to have a child, my world came crashing down. My husband says he still loves me, but I lie awake at night, wishing we could have a family. One morning, my husband’s side of the bed is cold and empty. I hear a noise and head downstairs. In the middle of the rug in my living room is a wooden drawer. Swaddled inside, with perfect rosy cheeks and beautiful round blue eyes, a baby gazes up at me.

Predictable
Revisado: 04-11-25
Interesting story and awesome narration. But it was disappointing that I was able to predict the entire plot half way through. I hung in there, hoping there would be some sort of shocking ending and that it wasn’t what I thought. But no such luck.

Penny has never met anyone smarter than her. That’s par for the course when you’re a savant—one of less than one hundred in the world. But despite her photographic memory and super-powered intellect, there’s one question Penny doesn’t know the answer to: where did her father go when he left her and her mother years ago? On Penny’s 21st birthday, she receives a card in the mail from her father, just as she has every year since he left. But this birthday card is different. For the first time ever, there’s a return address.

I’m an extremely picky reader that rarely finishes books. This is the second book in 2 weeks that I’ve finished by this author. Well crafted plot-line and the ending was SHOCKING. This story was deep, insightful, exciting, suspenseful, unpredictable. BRAVO. Truly impressive. The narration was a little slow and monotone. I had to speed it up to 1.1. But the story was so awesome that it overshadowed the tone of the narrator. I felt like clapping when I was done.

Historia
Poe Webb, host of a popular true crime podcast, invites people to anonymously confess crimes they’ve committed to her audience. She can’t guarantee the police won’t come after her “guests,” but her show grants simultaneous anonymity and instant fame—a potent combination that’s proven difficult to resist. After an episode recording, Poe usually erases both criminal and crime from her mind. But when a strange and oddly familiar man appears on her show, Poe is forced to take a second look.

I’m an insanely picky reader and I’ve gone through literally hundreds of audio books. The narration was phenomenal and the story really moved. Kept my attention the entire time. Very original and very entertaining. One of my rare 5 star ratings! Will definitely be reading another one by this author!

Historia
Home alone with her young children during a blizzard, a mother tucks her son back into bed in the middle of the night. She hears a noise—old houses are always making some kind of noise. But this sound is disturbingly familiar: it’s the tread of footsteps, unusually heavy and slow, coming up the stairs. Shrouded in the shadows, she sees the figure of a man appear down the hallway. Terrified, she quietly wakes her children and hustles them into the oldest part of the house, a tiny, secret room concealed behind a wall.

Well written

For a debut novel I would say this is well done. Narration was flawless. Loved the story but wasn’t quite a fan of the ending. Overall though, 4 out 5.

Story had a lot of potential but it never picked up for me. Great narrator and I liked the music. FYI, if you don't like music in the background type in the title of the book and there should be a regular version without music that is available.

Couldn't Finish
Revisado: 01-30-21
Had a lot of potential but it got to the point where the story was just dragging for me. Good narrator and music was cool. FYI for those of you who don't like hearing music in the background, you can type in the title of the book and there should be a regular version. If books have a "Booktrack" version there is usually a version without the music that is also available. Story started off great but Ilit became kind of monotonous with some unnecessary filler.

AWESOME
Revisado: 01-24-21
Unique plot line that was well thought out. Kept me hooked from beginning to end and it was very suspenseful. Some of the music was a little distracting and didn't quite fit with what was going on in some parts, but worked well in more intense parts of the story. Plus there were some cool sound effects like a crackling fire place and wind to emphasize the snowy cabin setting throughout. I've found a new favorite author. Loved the ending!

Sends you over a Vertical Cliff
Revisado: 12-11-20
The story started off great. Very fast moving and action packed. The narrator is probably one of the best I've ever heard on Audible. It's a 5 star performance with short clips of cool music played in between. But the story itself went over a cliff. The second half of the book didn't seem to go with the first half. I lost interest by chapter 4. Not sure what happened. But the author lost control of the story.

Silly and Awful.
Revisado: 09-22-20
Maybe this type of Genre just isn't for me. I was expecting something with more substance because the writing style is so beautiful. But this story is ridiculous. It's unrealistic and moves to quickly without giving the reader/listener time to absorb what's happening. This might be good if you're a dreamy-eyed teenage girl. I even kind of enjoyed the background music for a change (which some people find annoying). This book seems very shallow. Couldn't even make it past the first 3 chapters. No wonder this author pumps out books like crazy.

A Beautiful Masterpiece
Revisado: 09-20-20
Eloquent writing style. Began as a strange mystery and eventually the complicated relationships between the characters unfolded, revealing all kinds of secrets. It was a very unique story that was mostly unpredictable. Beautiful ending. I normally hate historical fiction and love to read mystery/suspense books. But this book was truly masterful and thought provoking. The author did an amazing of creating the atmosphere and the narration was some of the best I've ever heard.
