Historia
More than two decades have passed since the events chronicled in The Butlerian Jihad. The crusade against thinking robots has ground on for years, but the forces led by Serena Butler and Irbis Ginjo have made only slight gains; the human worlds grow weary of war, of the bloody, inconclusive swing from victory to defeat. Get ready for Dune: The Machine Crusade.

Too much gore
Revisado: 04-17-24
I listened to the previous book which was also on the line of the amount of gruesome details but this book takes it to another level. I can’t even finish the book and wish I could return it and get a refund. I like the characters but I don’t need to hear about all the ways the thinking machines kill and torture humans.

Fantastic book by Jeff wheeler as usual. I love these books and this series. I also haven’t had to worry about there being any unneeded language. I can happily endorse these books even to younger adults.

Historia
Hunting monsters was supposed to be the hard part. When Joy came to Apex City, all she cared about was protecting the Cits from the dangers lurking outside protective barriers. She understood the need for the secrecy surrounding her hunts - no need to cause a panic by announcing just how real of a threat the Othersiders pose. But as she quickly discovered, the conspiracies of the city run much deeper. And a dangerous new covert mission leaves Joy with a target on her back once more.

Great story besides bits of language & Siri narrating
Revisado: 11-09-23
The story is great, riveting and has edge of your seat action. It does however drive me nuts when authors get you hooked with the first book and then wait to add foul language until the second. Not much but enough to take away from the story. The narrator is the same from the first book and it sounds like she could’ve been the voice used for Alexa or Siri. It’s clear she tried but when you have a robotic quality to your voice, you may want to reassess what you’re using your “voice acting skills for”. Even with these thoughts the storyline is still really good.

Historia
Rosie is fairly certain that there's nothing wrong with putting a love spell on a foreign prince. At least she hopes there's not, because such a drastic measure is necessary in order for her to ensure that the perfect fairy tale romance she's dreamt about her entire life includes her own prince charming. As the heroine in her story, she won't be deterred by well-meaning friends, royal betrothals, hungry dragons, or the intriguing guard who stands in her way.

Worst main character ever
Revisado: 01-05-23
I was pleased this was a clean book but oh my, the main character was quite literally the worst character I’ve read about ever! She is so deluded you want to plug your ears and tear your eyes out. This writer may need to go back to the drawing board and create some characters who aren’t so asinine.

Still a fantastic story!
Revisado: 12-09-22
I love this series. The narrator is different for this book and she tries her best but it’s hard to please listeners when you get used to one voice in three books and then it’s switched on you. Besides that, great series and I love the end of this book. I can’t wait for the next one to come out!

Historia
Vera Sorokina loves reading the penny dreadfuls and immersing herself in tales of adventure, mystery, and romance. Her own days are filled with the often mundane work of running the book and print shop she owns with her father. The shop offers her the freedom and income to employ and protect the poverty-stricken Londoners she’s come to care about, and it gives her father something to do other than long for their hometown of St. Petersburg. She is grateful for the stability in their lives, but she often feels lonely.

Historia
Elizabeth Black is the headmistress of a girls' school in 1830s Victorian London. She is also a well-respected author of stories written both for and about the upper-class ladies of Victorian society. But by night, she writes very different kinds of stories - the Penny Dreadfuls that are all the rage among the working-class men. Under the pseudonym Charles King, Elizabeth has written about dashing heroes fighting supernatural threats, intelligent detectives solving grisly murders, and dangerous outlaws romancing helpless women.
