Historia
For the first time, Regan Gallagher is facing the world without her best friend by her side—no, Sutton isn't dead but she is in Rome, following her dreams. And Regan really is thrilled for her. Left to her own devices, she's doing . . . fine. Oh, except for the fact that her new roommate, Emma Bordeaux, has hated Regan since the literal day they'd met two years ago. Sure, most of their interactions end in disaster and Regan is the root cause, but they are all accidents! She'll win Emma over though; she's determined to make this living arrangement work come hell or high water.

Outstanding story
Revisado: 04-19-25
Regan and Emma seem to be an unlikely couple. But as the story progresses, while there a great differences between them, there seems to be an appreciation of those differences and there is an understanding on how to make being roommates easier. The growth both main characters is fun to watch, and watching Emma fit in with her mother and sisters, while painful, is worth it. The epilogue made me catch my breath, such a wonderful gift given to Regan. Highly recommended.

Historia
Reese Walker doesn't like people. What she likes is silence and being left alone. The thing she loves most about recording audiobooks is that she doesn't have to leave her Chicago apartment to do it. And she hasn't for nearly a year. But with an unavoidable bill going to collections that puts her sister's treatment at risk, she has no choice but to take a job that pushes her out of her comfort zone. After a disastrous blow to her career, Arden Abbott needs a comeback.

Small changes can make a big difference
Revisado: 04-08-25
Reese Walker is an audiobook narrator who lives, basically, as a recluse because she has anxiety and just doesn’t like people. She hasn’t left her apartment for more than 200 sum odd days. She needs money to pay for her sisters rehab facility so when she gets offered a job to read a book for a well known author she wants the job but needs to go to New York to audition.
The story unfolds as Arden, an ice queen/control freak, controls the audition even going so far as to criticize how Reese pronouncers certain words.
The way the two main characters learn to work together is interesting and I enjoyed it.

Historia
Australian crime reporter Maddie Grey is out of her depth in New York, miserable, and secretly drawn to her powerful, twice-married media mogul boss, Elena Bartell, who eats failing newspapers for breakfast. As work takes them to Australia, Maddie is goaded into a brief, seemingly harmless bet with her enigmatic boss - where they have to tell the complete truth to each other. It backfires catastrophically.

Wonderful book, amazing narrator
Revisado: 03-19-25
Lee Winter writes such brilliant ice queens and easy to like supporting characters. Felicity continually has a stick up her b¥tt, and Perry is suave,
debonair, and supports Elena completely. Madeleine seems like a puppy dog that wants a little pat on the head but knows what she wants, doesn’t take any crap, and finds a way to land on her feet no matter what is thrown her way.
Angela Dawe makes me feel what the characters feel. Anger, frustration, and caring.

Historia
Delilah Green swore she would never go back to Bright Falls—nothing is there for her but memories of a lonely childhood where she was little more than a burden to her cold and distant stepfamily. Her life is in New York, with her photography career finally gaining steam and her bed never empty. Sure, it’s a different woman every night, but that’s just fine with her.

Family?
Revisado: 02-18-25
This is my first book by Ashley Herring Blake but not my last. This story has everything including an evil stepmother, a careless, selfish ex, and a wonderful set of friends. Delilah is basically orphaned when her dad dies and is left in the care of her heartbroken stepmother and seemingly uncaring stepsister.
I think the best part of this book for me was when Delilah found her stepsister’s journal which changed her perception of everything. There’s angst, heartbreak, a complete unraveling of her life. But the pieces come back together in a practically perfect picture.
I love the supporting characters, iris is a hoot, Astrid (the stepsister)is wound tight but loosens up, and Claire is the best friend everyone wishes they had.

Wonderful
Revisado: 02-08-25
Truth and Measure is one of my favorite books and hearing Abby Craden bring the characters to life…breathtaking. Vivian Carlisle is a hard as nails and Julia Moretti is her PA. Jules seems soft and timid but is not a pushover.
There’s a bit of intrigue, a bad guy, and a nice supporting cast.

She feels...devastated. Struggling to equilibrate after the unexpected implosion of her personal life and reeling from her failed assignment overseas, Lexie’s barely treading water.

The whole series is unbelievably good
Revisado: 01-29-25
I talked to E.J at GCLS last year, telling her I was having a hard time finishing the series because of the angst. She said listen to Abby read it. So I did. I still yelled at her for putting Lexie (and Sophia) through so much crap. But Abby, with her soothing voice, made the angst seem bearable…till the last scene in Lexies apartment. I actually yelled at Lexie to do what needed to be done.
Abby shows so much emotion in a calm understated way, it’s amazing.

Historia
Captain Sabine Fleischer is a skilled and dedicated US Army surgeon deployed to a combat hospital in Afghanistan. She is also one of the thousands of troops who are forced to serve in silence because of the military's anti-gay policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT)". Usually driven and focused, Sabine finds that battles raging both inside and outside are making it more and more difficult for her to deal with her emotions. Dealing with loss and mortality, lack of privacy, sleep deprivation, loneliness, and the isolation forced on her by Don't Ask, Don't Tell are all taking their toll.

Love everything about E.J.’s writing. The depth of character development, the imagery of an attack on a transport vehicle, all makes for a compelling book. Add Abby Craden’s narration and you have an unbeatable experience.
