Over the top for me.

This got quite a few eye rolls from me but I plugged along and got through it. The premise is supposed to make you think there is something otherworldly going on: The Birds! The Birds! It took away from what could have been an interesting story. Hard pass next time.

I listened to this so you don’t have to. I am shocked at the number of 5 star reviews for this book. It can be summarized here: “take small, incremental steps every day and you will be successful.” You are welcome.

He repeats this same message over and over and over, ad nauseum. I listens at 1.5 speed and kept hoping, with each chapter there would be some new information.

Get Atomic Habits instead.

Interesting way to tell the story.

The first chapter is ridiculous. I almost stopped there. It seemed like some add on to increase the length adding nothing to the story. Where was the editor? Otherwise an interesting murder (not mystery) working backwards.

The narration made a mediocre story hard to listen to.

The narration was not only slow(I had to increase the speed), the cadence of the main character voice was so weird it made listening almost painful. If I had to do over, I’d pick another book and I will not pick any with this narrator. It may have been the direction she was given, but it was one of the worst I’ve heard.

The story was fairly predictable and I found it a bit odd that Weiner and her character put so much emphasis on explaining how bad it is to put so much emphasis on looks and yet her main character repeatedly remarks on Sebastian’s amazing body, muscles and abs.

Really regretted this purchase.

I didn’t realize it would have spouseal abuse. Listening to the wife be gas lit and so unpowerful was painful to listen to. This is more like aYA novel. I was not interested in seeing what happened.

All of the filler about the bees was very interesting to me. If you’re into bees, this extra film material might be interesting to you, but it seems like the novel could probably be half as long without this extra information.

Really more of a YA novel...

I thought this would be a lot more interesting. The story is told mostly from the POV of the 17 year old Alexa. Pretty immature 17 years old actually. I'm not that interested in reading about young love so much. The suspense would probably play well for a young unsophisticated audience.

This was not worth my time. I found the main character to be annoying and didn’t really care about any of the characters. The writing is very flowery and overwrought. I thought it would be a light, fun read but I did not enjoy it.

I found myself rolling my eyes quite a bit. I did listen to the end but found it a little saccharine for me. If you want something super light with a nice bow on top at the end then it might be worth your while.

Ugh! Really soft porn

Light on story, heavy on sex. Just have your eyes open to what you are getting. This reader will NOT be watching the series.
