A big step up from book one
Revisado: 08-28-16
This sequel takes the fun and freshness of the first book and polishes and perfects it. It's improved even more by getting right into it without dangling a lot of bait around. Time for book three which I'm sure is going to improve even more.

Historia
Tim and his friends find out the hard way that you shouldn't question the game master, and you shouldn't make fun of his cape. One minute, they're drinking away the dreariness of their lives, escaping into a fantasy game and laughing their asses off. The next minute, they're in a horse-drawn cart surrounded by soldiers pointing crossbows at them.

Mostly good
Revisado: 07-06-16
In my honest opinion this book was in need of some good editing before being released. Some parts are just not very coherent and all the characters seem to have incredible mood swings constantly. I admire all the voices the narrator does, but some of them fall flat emotionally.
However, the story is interesting. It walks the line of serious adventure and dudes fucking around playing C&C very well. Somewhat reminding me of the show Archer, they never miss opportunities for puns, bits, and dirty jokes in a natural way. Additionally, I've never played D&D but the way they utilize traits, skills, and abilities feels good and fresh. LVL 1 never felt so weak but full of potential.
This book is definitely worth a shot if you need to renew your need card with something utterly ridiculous and incredibly intriguing all at the same time.

Historia
After the War of the Gods, the demons were cast out and fell to the world. Mankind was nearly eradicated by the seemingly unstoppable beasts until the gods sent the great hero, Ramrowan, to save them. He united the tribes, gave them magic, and drove the demons into the sea. Ever since, the land has belonged to man, and the oceans have remained an uncrossable hell, leaving the continent of Lok isolated.

Historia
When a clockwork-powered man of brass is found abandoned in Trafalgar Square, Burton and his assistant, the wayward poet Algernon Swinburne, find themselves on the trail of the stolen Garnier Collection - black diamonds rumored to be fragments of the Lemurian Eye of Naga, a meteorite that fell to Earth in prehistoric times. His investigation leads to involvement with the media sensation of the age: the Tichborne Claimant, a man who insists that he's the long lost heir to the cursed Tichborne estate.

Fantastic book with a good sense of time
Revisado: 10-19-15
This was a great installment in the Burton and Swinburne series. It faithfully and strongly follows Springheeled Jack by crafting the world and the culture so brilliantly. Additionally I thought there was a feeling that time, long and short, was always an enemy with a strong feeling of urgency controlling the pace.
My only issue was in the reading it seemed like there were a lot of mistakes in naming characters. Several times Burton would reply to Burton in a Swinburne voice and the like. One proof listening would solve this as it hit pretty hard on the ears, but other than that it was a great listen.

Such a world
Revisado: 09-04-15
I was suggested this title because my girlfriend knows that above all I love a well crafted world that you can just feel in all its aspects. This did not fail. It was also a tremendously well written take with some of the most unique characters I have ever read about and a chillingly dark feel that I can't get enough of. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Stealth. Gorgon. Regenerator. Cerberus. Zzzap. The Mighty Dragon. They were heroes. Vigilantes. Crusaders for justice, using their superhuman abilites to make Los Angeles a better place. Then the plague of living death spread around the globe. Despite the best efforts of the superheroes, the police, and the military, the hungry corpses rose up and overwhelmed the country. The population was decimated, heroes fell, and the city of angels was left a desolate zombie wasteland like so many others.

Fantastic read
Revisado: 03-20-15
I got this on a whim and it was just entertaining. Most zombie universes are stories of how heroes lose and lose fast, survival is much more interesting.
My only critique is in the voice acting. While for the most part it is done very well a lot of human voices, particularly human soldiers, seem to lack some of the mood of the story. The tempo gets thrown a bit. Luckily human soldiers rarely talk and everyone else sounds so natural.
