Historia
Thomas McNulty, having fled the Great Famine in Ireland and now barely 17 years old, signs up for the US Army in the 1850s and with his brother in arms, John Cole, goes to fight in the Indian Wars - against the Sioux and the Yurok - and, ultimately, in the Civil War. Orphans of terrible hardships themselves, they find these days to be vivid and alive, despite the horrors they see and are complicit in. Moving from the plains of Wyoming to Tennessee, Sebastian Barry's latest work is a masterpiece of atmosphere and language.

Very moving
Revisado: 09-13-19
This book took me to a different place in time, thought, and most importantly to a different place in my heart. I was very moved by the narrator. The storyline was always pulling my in different ways. There was always a backdrop of the author struggling with thoughts of duty, struggle, right and wrong, being true to oneself and fiercely loving and fighting for those close to you.

Historia
Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Amazing story and voice
Revisado: 03-15-19
This book has it all. I'm about 300 audiobooks in and this was the best so far!! The narrator Kate M. captured my attention and my respect. My first Joe Hill read. Not my last - great story line from start to finish!

Historia
Harmony House is more than a “special place for special people.” It’s a think tank where high-functioning autistic savants harness their unique abilities for the benefit of society. Resident Eddie Parks’s contribution: an “echo box” that can re-create never-recorded sounds using acoustic archeology. All Eddie wants is to hear his late mother’s voice. But what he’s created is inadvertently posing a threat to national security. To Harmony House’s shadowy government backers and radical extremists, the echo box is the ultimate intelligence asset - an end to the very concept of secrecy.

Great story!!!! (except the birds)
Revisado: 01-22-19
It's such a small thing but the bird lists were so wrong. Eddie was not going to hear a grebe, lion, it teal from his urban room or in NYC. overall however a great read!! Thanks
