Tornadoes, cyclones, tsunamis… Weather can be deadly – especially when it strikes without warning. Millions of Americans could soon find themselves at the mercy of violent weather if the public data behind lifesaving storm alerts gets privatized for personal gain. In his first Audible Original feature, New York Times best-selling author and journalist Michael Lewis delivers hard-hitting research on not-so-random weather data – and how Washington plans to release it.

Historia
There have been many books - on a large and small scale - about Steve Jobs, one of the most famous CEOs in history. But this book is different from all the others. Becoming Steve Jobs takes on and breaks down the existing myth and stereotypes about Steve Jobs. The conventional, one-dimensional view of Jobs is that he was half genius, half jerk from youth, an irascible and selfish leader who slighted friends and family alike.

Great history of Silicon valley
Revisado: 04-22-15
Gave me a whole different level of respect for Apple or I should say JOBS Inc. He has got to be the most cerebral founder ever. I loved the way the story kept showing the evolution of Jobs to where you wanted to applaud him and toward the end nearly cry that he is gone. The first book I listened to in a long while that I longed for more.

Historia
On May 1, 1915, with WWI entering its tenth month, a luxury ocean liner as richly appointed as an English country house sailed out of New York, bound for Liverpool, carrying a record number of children and infants. The passengers were surprisingly at ease, even though Germany had declared the seas around Britain to be a war zone. For months, German U-boats had brought terror to the North Atlantic.

Historia
Over the last two decades, America has been falling deeper and deeper into a statistical mystery: Poverty goes up. Crime goes down. The prison population doubles. Fraud by the rich wipes out 40 percent of the world’s wealth. The rich get massively richer. No one goes to jail. In search of a solution, journalist Matt Taibbi discovered the Divide, the seam in American life where our two most troubling trends—growing wealth inequality and mass incarceration—come together, driven by a dramatic shift in American citizenship: Our basic rights are now determined by our wealth or poverty.

Extremely compelling read
Revisado: 06-02-14
What made the experience of listening to The Divide the most enjoyable?
Ray Porter
Who was your favorite character and why?
Too many to remember
Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but look forward to seeking him out
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
The insanity of how money predisposes people to success or failure in life. To whom and where you are born pre-destines people to a life of misery or comfort. Life for some really isn't fair. It just is.
Any additional comments?

Marginal at best
Revisado: 04-16-14
What disappointed you about Flash Boys?
The book was excessively redundant in the theme regarding the speed of transactions, over and over. I got the fact that someone spent millions bldg a super fast fiber optic path for High frequency traders. I did not need to keep reading about milli, micro and nano seconds.
The book could have been a third the size. Really a waste of time.
If you’ve listened to books by Michael Lewis before, how does this one compare?
Listened to several of his books and love his work. I bought this one because I love his work.
What about Dylan Baker’s performance did you like?
Voice inflection and engaging tone.
What character would you cut from Flash Boys?
Most of them
Any additional comments?
I do buy and sell stocks. Not to the extent of the Flash Traders but I understand part of the process. For the layman like me this book is a waste of time. I dont understand the controversy it has caused.

Enlightening
Revisado: 01-17-14
If you could sum up The Investigator in three words, what would they be?
Informative, interesting, wanting
Would you be willing to try another book from Terry Lenzner? Why or why not?
Yes...He has a fascinating background with exposure to many memorable events.
What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
He can make any book rise to an occasion it was not destined for.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The second half of the book was more moving and interesting than the first half. In retrospect Terry's earlier career gave him the background for the second half of his career.
