Historia
Thumbing across the scorched West Texas desert, loner Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is pretty Carmen Greer. But for Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen's got a story to tell, and it's a wild one. All about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that's pure Gothic. She's also got a plan. Jack Reacher's part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

Just could not get past the reader doing women and children's voices. He sounded like he was mocking them.

Great book, I leaned quite a bit. I do wish they would have used "they/their" instead of switching between he/her every other sentence. Got a little dizzying.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Historia
When a small vial arrives in her mailbox from "Lewis Carroll", Ayelet Waldman is at a low point. Her mood storms have become intolerably severe; she has tried nearly every medication possible; her husband and children are suffering with her. So she opens the vial, places two drops on her tongue, and joins the ranks of an underground but increasingly vocal group of scientists and civilians successfully using therapeutic microdoses of LSD.

Woh.
Revisado: 05-18-17
Woh. Went into this book for a brief view of microdosing and ended up with a brutally honest look inside a life, a history of drugs, a new found understanding for "the dangerous" drugs, and a new hatred for the war on drugs.
Was I supposed to tear up? Cause I did. Like 3 times.

Historia
What if you weren't sexually attracted to anyone? A growing number of people are identifying as asexual. They aren't sexually attracted to anyone, and they consider it a sexual orientation - like gay, straight, or bisexual. Asexuality is the invisible orientation. Most people believe that "everyone" wants sex, that "everyone" understands what it means to be attracted to other people, and that "everyone" wants to date and mate. But that's where asexual people are left out - they don't find other people sexually attractive, and if and when they say so, they are very rarely treated as though that's okay.

Educational first half
Revisado: 05-25-15
The first half of the book was really interesting and very eye opening. The second half was a lot of rehashing of "don't be insensitive". Also, I don't think anyone edited this for reading as the narrator spent the last 30 minutes reading a references section INCLUDING EVERY URL IN DETAIL (also, who puts YouTube and Google Doc links in a printed book?). Narrator was a bit monotone, but I don't know how much more inflection you can give to a book like this. Anyway, if you're looking for a good overview, listen to the first half of this book, definitely don't listen to the last 30 minutes.
