Historia
One afternoon in November 1975, ten-year-old Miranda Larkin comes home from school to find her house eerily quiet. Her mother is missing. Nothing else is out of place. There is no sign of struggle. Her mom’s pocketbook remains in the front hall, in its usual spot. So begins a mystery that will span a lifetime. What happened to Jane Larkin? Investigators suspect Jane’s husband. A criminal defense attorney, Dan Larkin would surely be an expert in outfoxing the police.

Very Big Disappointing
Revisado: 07-09-23
After listening for hours of meandering storylines the ending was aVERY BIG disappointment. I listened to the whole thing so I don’t feel like I can return.

Good Story Line....But....
Revisado: 10-24-19
Like this author very much. Story was engaging but when it came to the finish line of pulling it all together it fell flat.

Historia
Primrose Hill, London. Criminal profiler Ziba MacKenzie arrives at the scene of a gruesome murder with a disturbing sense of déjà vu. Nine days earlier, another woman’s body was found: same location, same MO, same physical appearance. For the police, it’s clear a new serial killer is on the loose. But for Ziba, it’s even more sinister—because the victims look just like her. Ziba has been the focus of a killer’s interest before and knows that if she gets too close again this case could be her last.

Good Story and Performance
Revisado: 08-25-19
Have enjoyed this series with main character Ziba Mackenzie. Feel as though the foundation of her character development has been set. Don’t know if I would continue to enjoy future books with this protagonist if there is a continuation of her arrogance and judgements about supporting characters. There was continual mention of how people looked or behaved and how they would not be someone she would socialize with. The only acceptable people in her world is herself, her dead husband, and her husbands best friend. A little more than off putting after awhile. While it is great to have a strong female character it doesn’t have to come with always mentioning the reasons she is better, smarter, or above others.

Historia
Everyone has secrets, and Rachel Holloway is no exception. She’s worked hard to keep the past where it belongs: dead and buried. And so far, she’s been very successful. But now the small newspaper where she works wants to produce a podcast on a cold case: the disappearance 12 years ago of young Molly Forster. Some secrets should never see the light of day, and, as far as Rachel is concerned, whatever happened to little Molly is one of them.

Good Story Although Drawn Out
Revisado: 08-23-19
Storyline idea was compelling although with too many improbable situations to be believable. I think the improbabilities were needed in order to make the whole story work. A bit drawn out in order to reach a very abrupt end.

It’s been fifteen years since Claire Calderwood’s sister, Rachel, was brutally murdered in their small hometown in Maine. Claire has finally carved out a life for herself as a homicide detective in Detroit, but the past comes calling when the local police back home ask for her help with a murder eerily similar to Rachel’s. As she starts investigating, the last thing she needs is tenacious journalist Noah Washington asking questions she’s not ready to answer.

Potential for strong female character fell short
Revisado: 08-20-19
Don’t know if it was dialogue or reader but... main female character was portrayed as defensive and angry. Was going to give up on book but sloughed through. Romance weaved into story was at odds with way main character was portrayed . Did not flow at all. Would be a good character for future novels if more consistency was worked on throughout whole plot.

A little too long
Revisado: 08-14-19
A good story but a little bit drawn out more than necessary. Some surprises at end but felt really drawn out. Could have been tighter. Reader is good but if you listen to other Dugoni novels the voices are the same for different characters which leads to inability to differentiate between narratives/books that are not connected.

Interesting Topic But Too Egotistic
Revisado: 07-31-19
The author gives credit to others only as it pertains himself. His career and expertise are certainly to applauded but it feels as a if he is constantly looking for recognition that he may not have received previously. If you had no knowledge of any other history of this subject you would be left to believe he single handedly is responsible for all advances in behavioral sciences. Without him it wouldn’t have happened.

Good Story ....Yet
Revisado: 07-30-19
Very robotic performance. Very little differentiation between characters. Decent attempt at different voices for all characters but still very monotone . Little to no emotion. Didn’t matter if someone was getting shot, grieving or having sex. All sounded the same . Unfortunate because the story line was good. Will not buy another book with this narrator. Unfortunately it seems she narrates many books by this author so I won’t be buying anymore of her books.

Historia
She used to work for the US government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn't even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning. Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They've killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.
