Historia
Elizabeth is utterly alone in her Montana cabin, shocked by the sudden, brutal death of her brother, the last of her family. His killer has threatened to return and claim her, and she has only one thought: to flee across country to the East and search for relatives she has never known. With the villain and his gang in pursuit, she rides across perilous terrain, encountering those who help her and those who, in their own way, are just as dangerous as the men she is fleeing.

Half Broke Horses
Revisado: 01-20-24
This story was hard to put down. The author’s Grandmother, Lily, was a strong character. She had a positive outlook on life and was a force to reckon with. She was a born teacher and never missed an opportunity to steer folks in the right direction. Lily met challenges head on. I will read this book again as time goes on.

Historia
Millions of Karon fans will be thrilled that it's life as usual in the wildly popular Mitford series: A beloved town character lands a front-page obituary, but who was it, exactly, who died? And what about the former mayor, born the year Lindbergh landed in Paris, who's still running for office? All this, of course, is but a feather on the wind compared to Muse editor J. C. Hogan's desperate attempts to find a cure for his marital woes. Will it be high-def TV or his pork chop marinade?

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Historia
Isabella Waverly only means to comfort the woman felled on a London street. In her final dying moments, she thrusts a letter into Bella’s hand. It’s an offer of employment in the kitchens of Buckingham Palace, and everything the budding young chef desperately wants: an escape from the constrictions of her life as a lowly servant. In the stranger’s stead, Bella can spread her wings. Arriving as Helen Barton from Yorkshire, she pursues her passion for creating culinary delights, served to the delighted Queen Victoria herself.

High goals
Revisado: 04-08-20
Helen (the name she borrowed from a dying young lady) really had courage and grit to apply for the job in the queen's kitchen. She had to be strong and smart to put up with the egos of professional cooks surrounding her in the royal kitchen. She had to remember that her name was Helen Barton (not Belle). The story became more intriguing when she ended up replacing the pastry chef at the last minute when the queen and her entourage were going to the South of France for a couple of months. Helen had never been anywhere. It happened that she was the only person in the kitchen who could speak French. The dramas, adventures, love interests, plus her love of cooking are all rolled up into a great story.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

Time travel
Revisado: 10-15-19
Amy Harmon is a creative and imaginative author. I loved this impossible, yet beautiful story. I loved it for some of the same reason's I love "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". Very strong love finds a way to allow these dear souls to continue their bonds of endearment even when you are convinced that it cannot happen.

Intriguing
Revisado: 04-19-18
As the story unfolded it was easy to believe that the events were based on someone’s own experiences. It was interesting to follow the slowly evolving friendship grow between the two main characters. My one complaint is that the presenters seemed to switch character from time to time. I was used to Bea’s voice, then it seemed like another person was reading her part instead of the one I was used to. Even so, I still recommend “Allie and Bea”.
