It had good parts and a good premise. I felt like several parts dragged on. Some of the conversations were hokey. It might be a style issue for me. I see mostly good reviews. But for me, it dragged.

I hardly ever skip parts of a book. I never could get into this book. The narration was monotone and I just could not care about the characters or story, no matter how hard I tried. I skipped a bunch to find out what really happened to the missing people and then I forwarded through the rest. I just couldn’t take anymore. I see a lot of people loved it. I wish I could have too.

I figured on the fact that the friend might be crazy. That is not exactly a spoiler. It is hinted at from page one. What I really liked was how the good people did bad things, but we still have sympathy, and even don’t mind when serious crimes are committed. There are some red herrings in there too. Clever. I like what you did, Teresa.
