Historia
Ellen O’Farrell is a professional hypnotherapist who works out of the eccentric beachfront home she inherited from her grandparents. It’s a nice life, except for her tumultuous relationship history. She’s stoic about it, but at this point, Ellen wouldn’t mind a lasting one. When she meets Patrick, she’s optimistic. He’s attractive, single, employed, and best of all, he seems to like her back. Then comes that dreaded moment: He thinks they should have a talk. Braced for the worst, Ellen is pleasantly surprised.

Great narrator, good story, and excellent performance. The book got a little boring toward the middle.

Great until the end
Revisado: 11-03-22
This story was fantastic...until the ending. Everything was left up in the air. If you are ok with an untidy ending that leaves a lot to the imagination, this story is for you. The plot, pace, and performance is all top notch. However, I still wish I could have my time back or a few more answered questions at the end.

Absolutely perfect
Revisado: 11-26-18
The layers uncovered with each chapter are riveting while somehow managing to not be completely depressing (a y’all task for a book with suicide as its center) in. A worthwhile read that progresses at the perfect pace, right up until the satisfying end. Fiction at its absolute best!

Historia
Cat Kinsella overcame a troubled childhood to become a detective constable. When she’s called to the scene of a murder, not far from the pub her estranged father still runs, she discovers that Alice Lapaine is dead. Cat and her team suspect Alice’s husband, until she receives a phone call that links the victim to Maryanne Doyle, a teenage girl who went missing in Ireland 18 years earlier. The call raises uneasy memories for Cat. Though she was only a child, Cat knew that her father wasn’t telling the truth when he denied knowing anything about Maryanne or her disappearance.

The best part about this novel was the audible preview. It got boring/went downhill/put me to sleep from there.

Would give zero stars if I could
Revisado: 05-07-18
Too. Many. Words. The author somehow manages to take a compelling and relevant topic and write the most boring story possible. What could easily have been a one hour book was drawn out into what felt like an eternity. Save yourself HOURS of your life that you will NEVER get back!!! Don’t buy this. Don’t listen for free. Just turn on the news and listen to an actual victim/survivor of the #metoo movement.

Revisado: 04-18-17
Incredible plot and character development. I miss the key players already and have JUST NOW finished listening to this book. I didn't want it to end! I couldn't help but listen to it day and night, as the narration perfectly captured the personalities of each character and the author made the story so incredibly relatable. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!!!

Historia
Charles Wang is mad at America. A brash, lovable immigrant businessman who built a cosmetics empire and made a fortune, he's just been ruined by the financial crisis. Now all Charles wants is to get his kids safely stowed away so that he can go to China and attempt to reclaim his family's ancestral lands - and his pride. Outrageously funny and full of charm, The Wangs vs. the World is an entirely fresh look at what it means to belong in America - and how going from glorious riches to (still name-brand) rags brings one family together in a way money never could.

Historia
Evidence that evil is flourishing faces Christians every day, leaving many feeling hopeless and helpless. What they don't realize, says esteemed pastor Jack Hayford, is the power that is theirs through the cross. Instead, they labor under the misconception that spiritual warfare occurred only during biblical times. But it is right here, right now, says Pastor Jack. And for the first time he lays out the strategies he's learned for engaging and defeating evil - through prayer. With clarity and passion, he shows readers how to develop powerful devotional habits....

Worst Narration EVER - Great information
Revisado: 06-27-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Wow, this is the most BORING narrator EVER. The information in this book is POWERFUL nad EXCITING, but this narrator sounds EXACTLY like a computer. Is it really a computer-generated voice? I'm so confused. This would be an awesome book in book-version.
