Historia
In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

It gave me tears of joy.
Revisado: 01-29-24
I wish I could experience this book for the first time all over again. Multiple times I found myself crying over their joyful life moments, like the first campaign visit and the proposal story. Simple, yet profound moments of life literally changing, written with compelling and honest emotion. I absolutely loved it. I adored the Obama family while they were in the White House, for Barack's impacts and Michelle's drive, class, strong views and getting it all done, beautifully. I never knew much about either of them though. I just fell in love with the Robinsons and Obamas. I'll likely read as much as I can from this pair as I love how their minds work. I now know if we ever met, Michelle wouldn't mind a hug, she's a hugger too.

As sad as it started, I truly enjoyed this adventure and hope that it's message is heard loud and clear. Hopefully, we can have the same courage to change, before it's too late.

A lesson in history my soul needed.
Revisado: 01-19-24
It was difficult to listen to this without occasionally wanting to underline, rabbit-ear pages and rereading sentences, so I bought it. I'm grateful for the privilege to be able to learn about the occupation and torturous treatment of Palestinians by Israel. As an American born in the 80's my mind was filled with propaganda and lies spread by American media and Israel. I pray more people educate themselves on the struggle of Palestinian sovereignty and push the U.S. government to end financial and military support of a government/state that acts as a terrorist to its neighbors and to force them to return lands stolen from Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

What a treat to be fully immersed in a book. These words gripped me. My heart was racing for the conclusions but never wanted the story to end. I am so grateful to have the lessons of this novel in my soul forever. Excellent story.

Isha is a girl who loves animals but struggles in the confines of school. When she is sent away to live with her grandparents on the Indian countryside, she discovers a sacred grove where a young Bengal tiger has taken refuge. Everyone should read this book.

I Have no words for how important and incredible I found this book. I am endlessly grateful to the author for giving a voice to the jungle and the creatures that call it home. I can only wish the masses had even an ounce of the courage of the characters to pick up this book and really hear the message. This book is full of ups and downs and I am so glad I was able to find the resilience to read past the first few chapters. I am a more courageous conservatory than I was when I first started this epic novel.

I have a new hero and his name is Billy Waugh. Thank you for writing about such an interesting topic and delivering the information that even a civilian like me can understand.
