Historia
In Bullet Train, underworld operative Ladybug was tasked by his handler Maria Beetle with retrieving a suitcase from a high-speed train in Japan. The job did not go according to plan. Will the unluckiest assassin in the world will find things easier this time around? All he has to do is deliver a painting to a hotel guest, a portrait made by his daughter. Easy enough, except when Ladybug makes the delivery, he realizes that the guest is clearly not the guy in the painting. Then he attacks Ladybug, they fight, and the guest ends up dead. How can such simple jobs always go wrong?

Historia
Over the past decade, Kevin Alexander saw American dining turned on its head. Starting in 2006, the food world underwent a transformation as the established gatekeepers of American culinary creativity in New York City and the Bay Area were forced to contend with Portland, Oregon. Its new, no-holds-barred, casual fine-dining style became a template for other cities, and a culinary revolution swept across America. Traditional ramen shops opened in Oklahoma City. Craft cocktail speakeasies appeared in Boise. Poke bowls sprung up in Omaha.

Historia
Nanao, nicknamed Ladybug - the self-proclaimed “unluckiest assassin in the world” - boards a bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with one simple task: Grab a suitcase and get off at the next stop. Unbeknownst to him, the deadly duo Tangerine and Lemon are also after the very same suitcase - and they are not the only dangerous passengers onboard. Satoshi, “the Prince”, with the looks of an innocent schoolboy and the mind of a viciously cunning psychopath, is also in the mix and has history with some of the others.

nothing and exactly like the film
Revisado: 11-10-22
like a train, it starts slow and gains unstoppable momentum before gliding into its final station. anybody who's has seen the movie first is likely to be very disappointed with its source material counterpart, unless you go in with the proper expectations

The trick: just sit down and be quiet. Trust me.
Revisado: 03-04-21
I started this lecture to help deepen my understanding of Zen for character research for a silly project I was working on, then something happened: Zen didn't seem so unapproachable and perplexing. This lecture is earnest in its demystification of Zen as some far away ancient thing from an exotic land. Prof. Davis does a wonderful job explaining how begin a practice and demonstrating the functionality of Zen 21st century life. In the information age of 24 hour news cycles, disinformation, vitriol, confusion and suffering: Zen is more applicable now more than ever. I'm an avid listener of The Great Courses, but this one literally changed my life.

Historia
The Los Angeles Times headline screamed: Rocket Scientist Killed in Pasadena Explosion. The man known as Jack Parsons, a maverick rocketeer who helped transform a derided sci-fi plotline into actuality, was at first mourned as a scientific prodigy. But reporters soon uncovered a more shocking story: Parsons had been a devotee of the city’s occult scene.

Science, sex, and SoCal
Revisado: 05-11-20
Incredibly fascinating and engaging. the narrator's accent bothers the more pedantic and persnickety but is affable and engrossing. a portrait of a person who dared to reconcile scien and the supernatural, Parson's life is made both beautiful and bittersweet in Pendle's narrative. Beginning with the end of his life creates a throbbing fascination of the events and setting of 20s,30s,40's SoCal. I listened to this twice consecutively.
