This is a very sad story. I am hoping the strength, gratitude and hopefulness he expressed in the last chapter were still with him at the end.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Harry’s persistence in trying to create a fully-realized, authentic life for himself against terrible odds is inspiring. I truly enjoyed listening to him tell his side of the story, yet felt deep sadness for him. Please never give up, Harry.

Historia
Louise Erdrich's latest novel, The Sentence, asks what we owe to the living, the dead, to the reader and to the book. A small independent bookstore in Minneapolis is haunted from November 2019 to November 2020 by the store's most annoying customer. Flora dies on All Souls' Day, but she simply won't leave the store. Tookie, who has landed a job selling books after years of incarceration that she survived by reading "with murderous attention", must solve the mystery of this haunting.

Historia
In India, both yoga and cannabis are considered gifts from the Hindu god Shiva. They are seen as twin currents of wisdom and enlightenment, allies for healing and consciousness expansion. As ethnobotanist and yogi Chris Kilham explains, when wisely and thoughtfully combined, cannabis and yoga offer profound benefits for body, mind, and spirit. Kilham examines the history and lore of both cannabis and yoga, with a special focus on the role of cannabis in Indian and Himalayan yoga traditions where it has been used for thousands of years.

Really Informative!
Revisado: 04-28-21
I greatly enjoyed this book. Chris Kilham does a wonderful job explaining why yoga and marijuana go so well together. He does this by providing a history of each and giving examples of how the benefits are synergistic.
It is a great introduction to both yoga and marijuana for those new to these modalities, as well as a great refresher course for those with prior experience. I have been doing Kundalini yoga for several years, and am no stranger to the health-giving benefits of marijuana, however, I had never thought to combine the two. Doing so has opened up a new dimension to my practice. Chris provides quite a few recommended yoga asanas, some edible recipes, as well as some personal background as to how he got started with both yoga and ganja. I particularly enjoyed this part as some of Chris’s path mirrored my own: Richard Hittleman; Autobiography of a Yogi; Carlos Castenada; UMass Amherst and Cushing Academy. As a matter of fact, we were at Cushing at the same time, but reading this book made me realize Chris was having a lot more fun there than I was! At any rate, this is such a well-researched and informative read, with many little tips and tricks Chris has learned along the way, especially the one about substituting “feeling” energy for “visualizing” it.
Highly recommended, along with his great book on Ayahuasca.

Historia
At first glance, the death of media mogul “Big Bill” Argosy appears to be suicide. But his widow, Laila, thinks otherwise. Because Big Bill made enemies - lots of them. And he’d rather fight to the death than take his own life. When the authorities refuse to investigate, Laila turns to the one person who can see connections in the universe where others can’t: Zip Ono, a young private investigator - and practicing Buddhist. Zip quickly learns that there’s no shortage of suspects who might very well want Argosy dead.

Really enjoyable. Got me very interested in SGI Buddhism. Have even started chanting. I wish there was a community neighborhood group somewhere near me, but the closest is a 6-hour drive away. Mr. Plummer, please write another Zip Ono book. I loved it and value it.

Historia
In The Keeper of Lost Causes, Jussi Adler-Olsen introduced Detective Carl Mørck, a deeply flawed, brilliant detective newly assigned to run Department Q, the home of Copenhagen’s coldest cases. The result wasn’t what Mørck - or readers - expected, but by the opening of Adler-Olsen’s shocking, fast-paced follow-up, Mørck is satisfied with the notion of picking up long-cold leads. So he’s naturally intrigued when a closed case lands on his desk: A brother and sister were brutally murdered two decades earlier....

I LOVE Paula Poundstone. She is a national treasure. This book was, by turns, shockingly honest, tender, heartbreaking, courageous and frequently very, very funny. My hat is off to this wonderful woman who hides a strong moral compass beneath her sometimes tough veneer.
